It is not worth it or it would be simpler to watch the show a few times.

The one guy is an old pedophile always trying to subdue young boys and the fat guy is the central character.

You would need to see the show a few times.

Good lord..... You really dig holes for yourself, I wouldn't watch it "once"
I think its faster n easier just to ask Izzy what he had in mind in his post.
He is an agreeable fellow.
He will probably come thru with an understandable explanation.
Izzy can be lucid.

Maybe, that shouldn't have been passed..............

I still wouldn't watch it once.

One problem with CP trading on the internet is that it is almost impossible for academia researchers to do research on the subject without running afoul of the law.

I remember reading of one professor who was doing research very openly and after being advice of the legal problems surrounding the handling of such material he stop however a few years later one of the computers he had been using was found to had some deleted CP dating back to that time frame and he was arrested over the matter.

This is all from my memory so I will need to track it down but it is my understanding it is impossible or almost impossible to get permission to handle such material even for a university research purposes from the government.

So if would seems the only statistics we are getting is from law enforcement personal that are not train to do such a task.

How accurate is that 70,000 traders number and how was it arrived at for example.

I was reading of some DA's who say that the law is now written such that they keeping a record of the kiddie porn for trail could be considered a violation of federal law, so it would follow that the law does not make exception for science. You will recall that promising research into LSD was abandoned for three decades due to draconian US Federal laws...once the state has decided it wants to be rid of something it does not want to hear about any contradicting evidence, it does not want its will challenged by science proving that the contraband has positive qualities. It also does not want science claiming that the contraband is not as bad as they claim it is. Increasingly in America the truth is seen as irrelevant.

@BillRM,
Oh we had an example of the problem with doing any research on the subject right on this thread.

You creep you was the comment from my friend Firefly for daring to do a search with the key word young and sex on a p2p network and taking note of how many files look like they might contain CP.

Any academia research would call for downloading such files to see if they did contain CP or not and then off to prison will the researchers go.

I find Izzy to be very rational, I'm sure he'll read what you wrote and reply...

Although I do hate the 'c' word:)

And your point is?

Why are you obsessed with teenagers and what they can and can not do, in a Court of Law?

A 17 year old girl by the way, sending a nude photo to her boyfriend was probably
co-erced into doing so, by the greed of a child himself, the boy.
I dunno, but I 've been told that rock stars get a lot of pictures like that in the mail.

Yes; I 'm not sure of the reason that he chooses to use it.
He does not appear to be referring to female.

Forgive my computer ignorance,
but what does "p2p network" mean ?

@OmSigDAVID,
lol's okay, I have to agree with you on that one, my two nephews are in a band, aged, 20 and 21, and have I am sure, hundreds of girls throwing themselves at them, but then, those girls are 20, 21, maybe 19, even 18 after all they have to be to get into the nightclub to see them:) Guess I will have to call them 'Adults' Smile

You know the number 70000 is likely blown up but even so if the numbers are anywhere near correct law enforcement should stop at once going after someone downloading CP on their home computers and used all the resources to go after the producers of this material.

No matter how many engineering profs you are arresting it a drop in the bucket that is not going to solve the problem in fact given the technology I do not off hand see any solution.
How can anyone in his right mind
violate these laws??
I don 't understand it.
It is almost suicidal, in exchange for nothing.

I don 't approve of robbing banks, but I understand the reasoning; not this.

p2p means Peer to peer network.

There is no master computer or computers on the network all the computers are equal IE they are all peers of each other and all share in the workload of the network.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer-to-peer

Peer-to-peer (P2P) computing or networking is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or workloads among peers. Peers are equally privileged, equipotent participants in the application. They are said to form a peer-to-peer network of nodes.

Peers make a portion of their resources, such as processing power, disk storage or network bandwidth, directly available to other network participants, without the need for central coordination by servers or stable hosts.[1] Peers are both suppliers and consumers of resources, in contrast to the traditional client–server model where only servers supply (send), and clients consume (receive).

The peer-to-peer application structure was popularized by file sharing systems like Napster. The concept has inspired new structures and philosophies in many areas of human interaction. Peer-to-peer networking is not restricted to technology, but covers also social processes with a peer-to-peer dynamic. In such context, social peer-to-peer processes are currently emerging throughout society.

What the soul needs can not always be purchased, wealth is not the only thing that makes the world go round.

Me, if I liked kids erotically I would read stories about having sex with kids, would fantasize, would find a young looking woman who wanted to role-play being a child for me, I would not take the chance of running afoul of the law. But that does not mean that I think the law is correct, thus my argument in this thread. If the state thinks it can get away with it it will eventually move to further criminalize the desire to have sex with kids, it will go the very last inch it can because it is obsessed with beating on citizens who are erotically attracted to people under the age that the state determines is "right".

@hawkeye10,
That's only through fear of getting caught...

You may say you "wouldn't" but presented with the opportunity, believing you would never be caught, doesn't not mean that you would not consider.

What thoughts are in the mind, can easily become reality, eventually.

The State should determine "prevention" ...

So I am a sick ****** because I had some problems with the current federal CP law?

Hawkeye thanks for starting this tropic because I had found the emotional reactions surrounding it highly interesting to say the least.

Having an engineering background and mindset it is sometime very hard to understand how must of our society and laws are driven not by logic or even commonsense but sheer emotions.
