@reasoning logic,
At the time of the second choice the contestant has two doors to choose from. One with a car and one with a goat. With no other information he or she has an even chance. Don't look back. The past is dead and gone.

Don't take up betting rl. Or science.

You said that You have a time problem with Monty Hall.

I am talking about reality, what you are talking about is that theology way of thinking. If you could take time away from things you could really mess up reality but as far as I know we can not affect the time of the Monty Hall problem, We can only imagine it.

Sorry no matter what the time period the theory of the atom where created as a means to deal/explain known facts repeat known facts of how matter interacted and do allow better predictions of such interactions.

The Bohr atom model was put together and tested almost at once and gave useful results from the beginning.

No god or gods theory had given any such useful results and none of them had successfully explain any known facts or had allow any useful predictions.

What do you call philosophy? That is now Science??

The Pagan Origin Of Easter

How do you KNOW, that this pagan celebrations of any pagan religion, is not the one and same living God that is described as Jesus Christ?? and that Jesus' Life, was the actual act of what all these pagan religions spoke of...and it is called Christianity today, and Jesus Christ is that God??

That would mean that for maybe 1000 years before Abraham came around, People still knew the significance of a Virgin Birth, and a savior in white??

But this is where your thinking skews off...and you call others lost on those subjects...

You have personally said to me, I am one smart dude, but when it comes to religion, all bets are off...Reread the post you have posted, and see how similar these pagan religions are with the Christian God...Yet when it describes a part that you did not find suitable...(The Satan part for example...) (It is you who "finds" reasons as to why it is acceptable or not in your mind) Not anything to do with anyone else skewing off the path...and why would you trust what someone says (me) then if it comes to things that are not provable...Is it ridiculous? and all bets are off? Is there a better chance they are right about those things as well? Or a better chance, that they are right about half what they say? and completely wrong about the other 50% baseless things?? think about it...

I'm talking about reality. I don't know what you are talking about.

If the player is allowed to switch then that's a new choice and the previous choice is irrelevant.

Take a 3 horse steeplechase where all three start at 2-1 and there is betting in running as there is in England. One horse falls. The bookies then go evens the other two. As soon as the horse falls it's a new race for betting purposes.

Never understood why people get so worked up over my right to be an atheist. I only drop in here on occasion to reassert this right. The discussions no longer interest me, as there is nothing new to offer and in the end there is still no god and no persuasion that can alter the fact.

Good! Never understood the same about why atheists have to attack theists to feel better about themselves!

@spendius,
Oh let him have his moment in the Sun. The concept less than a thousand words long, and some number crunchers have decided that the odds aren't exactly 50/50.

This is as profound as he gets, give him a bit of hushed awe, then pat him on the head. He deserves it.

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
ed does not understand that nobody is trying to persuade him to believe there is a God.

What matters is that he is persuaded to cease trying to convert others to his viewpoint unless he can explain the advantages of all of us being converted.

The advantages of Christianity speak for themselves. The gathering hordes of heathens will be resisted.

Yup! so true! I told you, I tested that, to see who was truthful or not....And for people who do not stop talking long enough to hear others speak...or listen to themselves...Out of about 6 people I have asked, Not one gave it even a whimpy ass answer...

Which means they are speechless at the thought, which I doubt...Do not understand it...Which I doubt....Or they have no answer for it!

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
That is total bullshit. All these threads are started by the "mythboys" and start off withdumass titles like "Atheists your lives are meaningless"
Up your ass with that self congratulatory air.
If you need your crutch to live, noone disallows it, but when you shout **** from a public Bulletin Board, you get back what you spread. You dont even have a cogent argument with which to do your prosyletizing. Ed is merely checking in as he said, as am I. If you get all defensive about it, well thats tough **** Ralph.

Oh what advantages might that be??????????

Are you thinking of the never ending religious war ongoing in Ireland that died down and then flare up time after time between two groups belonging to two major branches of Christianity?

Are you thinking of the advantages of religion teachings being used in fighting science being taught in the public schools in the US?

Or being used as an excuse to keep blocking civil right for gay citizens in the US and to imprison or even execution gays in some African counties with the backing of US base Christian groups?

Please tell us all of the wonderful benefits of Christianity!!!!!

These customs of Easter honor Baal, who is also Satan, and is still worshipped as the "Rising Sun" and his house is the "House of the Rising Sun."

And you forgot to mention, in the Old Testament God the Father speaks about not worshiping a God named Baal...And that he would make Baal vomit out of his mouth....Which proports what I said about these pagan religions knowing that a Virgin Birth would come, and a Messiah would someday come...

The story of a virgin birth is hardly a new idea in the religions that mankind had dreams up but it take real bending of logic that Christians are good at to claimed that such stories are just the foreshadowing of the "real" virgin birth of Jesus.

@spendius,
Ed lives in Texas though, that's a bit like not being a Moslem in Saudi Arabia. I imagine people are tying to convert him all the time over there.
