@dlowan,
Why it is not always easy to be loved by a Cornish Rex
Me human, you cat is not perceived by them as a comment about hierarchy.
They invite you to play the same way they do each other....by jumping on you with claws and teeth in operational mode.
They talk too much.
A face and nose can be TOO clean and NOBODY EVER needs something else's tongue to clean the inside of their nose.
They don't remember to retract their claws fully when they are lovingly stroking your face, which they do a lot.
You ought to be able to leave fruit, vegetables, salad, nuts and alcohol alone for a moment without coming back to find it gone. Meat goes with the deal, I get that....but the rest?
Sometimes I like to get to lie down and read and such without a cat on my chest blocking the way. They look so sad when I move them that I give in, or feel guilty.
They have major muscles in their forearms and can pull stuff out of my hands or break things that they just shouldn't be able to.
They never learn to leave computer screens alone.
Anything designated as a toy becomes wearisome. Anything forbidden as a toy remains irresistible.
No cat ought to be dexterous enough to insert a claw gently into your nose, then get it into exactly the right position to use as a hook and pull when all other attempts to force you to admit you are awake have failed.
Sebastian oughtn't to be able to jump high enough in the air to get my face when he's feeling frisky.
Gotta love them, though.
Melts.
