I had to really get cross with him, so he took himself off to a dining chair in the corner and looked at me anxiously for ages.

When I turned my back I caught him making his way back to the pot.

Maybe he sees persistence as a virtue?

Opening cupboards is NOT a good happenstance.

On the other hand, it does mean he isn't as dumb as you thought he was. He even figured out which way to look at you to put you on a guilt trip!

Lol! You're determined to see Sebastian as the under...er...cat, aren't you? I agree, he isn't dumb.

I noted Viola learning from him.

Because....they were BOTH up on my desk opening the cupboard next time they came into the study! Single trial learning and a pass-on. Luckily with my huge brain, I am still able to out-think them. I had removed the treats. Be interesting to see how long the behaviour takes to extinguish...or is no cupboard safe from now on without a lock? Shall I have to get child locks for everything? I mean...Sebastian DRINKS (alcohol, I mean)...shall I require a tantalus?

I rely only on that curse of the cat....NO THUMBS! But these cats, especially Sebastian, have paws more like hands than any other cat.

Has Setanta finally been proven correct? ARE they demons?

@tsarstepan,
And the maze had a built-in toughener!!! Viola has become better at manipulating a single crunchy through the maze...it's hilarious watching her running around the feeder...intent on guiding her pellet through the maze.

So I made it harder....placed it against a wall....

Tee hee...

Virtue? It's his goddam motto.

@dlowan,
Sebastian just hit a new low behaviour wise.

I was fussing around hanging a mask, when I heard a loud noise right behind me. Turned round to see a huge hole in my favourite (paper, sadly) lampshade and Sebastian tearing off on the gad.

He'd jumped into the air to hang off the light, presumably, and destroyed it.

@ehBeth,
Ha!

I knew something was going to happen....he was quiet this morning....too quiet. He was very upset when I told him off last night....I almost wonder ief he was plotting revenge.

Actually, I'm making lemons into lemonade.

It solved the problem of what to do with another light I really love but have no place for.....and I am going to turn the lamp base ino a kind of hat and coat stand with a very small foot print.

Figgering on how exactly to do that....

@margo,
Took first photos and video with new camera!

Viola looks cool.....Sebastian is a black blur.

They were out on the balcony for the longest time ever. Miranda I trusted....she had constant free access. Sebastian? I'm looking to get it meshed in.

@dlowan,
How could he possibly know not to do that? It looked solid to him.

I really am sorry to hear about the shade. Phooey on that.

I consider myself to be a very impatient and short-tempered person. Do you get the feeling that those qualities don't apply to pets?

No wonder friends of mine used to say that if they could come back, they'd want to come back as one of my cats.

I really, really am sorry about the shade. Really.

Also really looking forward to the videos.

@Roberta,
You didn't bust it!

I hope the noise and the falling taught him a lesson. I was too stunned to do anything really. But his judgment just ain't good! Needs look before you leap tattooed on his corneas!

@dlowan,
I knew this cupboard opening would lead nowhere good.

Meanwhile, I have further difficultised the food maze....put a bowl on top so it cannot be accessed from the top. That caused a stir in the dovecotes I can tell you!

As Violas figure becomes more svelte she is also climbing and jumping more. I must get some video of her being lassitudinous.

@dlowan,
If the video is done a little camera, it's probably a .MOV file (possibly an .AVI file) so can be uploaded direct onto photobucket in the same way as photos (just choose upload video instead). Warning tho - it DOES take a longer time to upload - it's not as slow as it used to be by any means. If you use a photo programme like Picasa to put your photos into, you can upload a video with just a click on the keyboard direct to youtube which is better than photobucket quality).

@dlowan,
She was actually chasing her tail in the bath yesterday....for ages....at speed. That would have been a cute video. Then Sebastian jumped on her from the handbasin and she launched like a little rocket!

She's a lot darker now.....looks kind of grubby.

I can't believe it....I got through all that hard physical labour over my holidays without really hurting myself. Then, the evening of first day back at work I a simply carting some heavy rubbish and bam. I normally take it out front doors and through another gate so I can use a ramp to get it to lower carpark....this one was so damn heavy I took the shorter route down stairs. Somehow tripped or something....our stairs are awful....and managed to twist or jar my neck saving myself and was home the nextnthree days....couldn't do a thing. Made me nauseous so I couldn't eat.

As it happens, I coincidentally had appointment with pain doctor and am into hospital on Thursday to have a nerve block. If that relieves things I'll go on to have some sort of procedure where they kill a tiny part of the nerve. Supposed to relieve things for a couple of years....during which hopefully my body stops armoring itself against the pain and behaves normally, thus helping pain not to come back.

I have to be babysat that night and friends are picking me up and I'll sleep there. They offered to take woollies but I know they have no concept of the mayhem woollies could unleash amongst the art work and precious doodads!!!! I think it will be better for all of us if woollies have a quiet night to themselves.

@Izzie,
I might need to be walked through process! A program for all that came on a disk with the camera....but I have only just begun to play with it....neck has precluded putering....and I couldn't find the videos to upload.
