@dlowan,
The problem (if you choose to view it that way) is that, IMO, all the best cat toys require human facilitation.

Good luck with the fountain (I say with a bit of a smirk).

@Roberta,
Yeah..but I'm not here a lot and I want them to have stuff to do when they are alone.

Whatrdudcddduufuuxxca. That was Viola, who has gone from asleep to mad in one swell foop

Whats with the fountain skepticism?

@dlowan,
Got a lovely fountain for Mikey the monster cat. He refused to drink from the bowl at the bottom. He would only drink from the opening where you put the water in. And then only once. After that he wouldn't go near it. Waste of money.

@Roberta,
No, no. This fountain would be for cats to drink from the fountaining bit....so it's a bit like a running tap but upside down. They CAN drink from the bowl if they want to, of course.

They'll both play with running water for hours.

Ha. Currently deeply engaged with a hair tie....after the morning game of hiding in the bath behind the shower curtain and leaping on scritching fingers, or scritching violas, like a killer whale beaching itself to take seals and then the morning game of "how many kittens can get in the hand basin and play with the water and stop mummy from washing her teeth plus how much stuff can we knock off the vanity before mummy has a melt down and kicks us out."

@dlowan,
Miranda loved water and would occasionally hop into the bathtub as it was draining. Patty loathed water. A drop could make her nuts. Mikey seemed kind of indifferent, but one of his favorite things that nearly killed mommy involved water.

I'm taking a shower. The shower curtain is on the outside of the tub. The liner is on the inside. It's a plastic not clear but almost see-throughable. So I'm in the shower and something strong takes a swing at me down low. I'm sure I broke some kind of high jump record. He loved doing that, but after the first time I knew it was coming.

I wish you luck with the fountain. I had similar nonluck with one of those cat towers, but that was my fault. I shoulda measured the size of the platforms and the size of the cat.

@Roberta,
That Mikey!!!

Sebastian will, I swear, jump into the bath and stay one day.

He adores running water....toilet, bath, shower, dishes, hand basin...runs from anywhere in the house. Drinks water as it runs, plays with it, gets in hand basin with it as I clean my teeth or hands....hair washing days are bliss.

Viola getting more and more interested too.

Mine love their cat towers. I will be getting them one of these in a bit:

wow, have they got you kitten-pecked (the pet equivalent of henpecked) or what? Have you considered leaving a bunch of cardboard boxes of different sizes around? Worked for Maru, the internet celebrity cat.

The Maru Channel is the 9th most subscribed-to internet channel in Japan. Put up the Sebastian Channel and you might get enough ad revenue to pay your Strata fee (if I remember correctly about what it's called.

@MontereyJack,
Hmmm....they like videos.

But they are quintessentially themselves. Don't know if it'd work.

How the hell are you anyway damn (relatively speaking) stranger?

Sebastian just strolled in and looked at the video.

Sneered and turned his bum to it.

Not looking hopeful.

@margo,
These really are hyperactive you know. Never had kittens like them. Not even Siamese are this demanding.

Luckily I can now sleep through my bed being used as an assembly point for mad forays and a central battle ground, as well as numerous Viola attempts to get me up through tapping my face, purring wildly and licking me vigorously.

There is currently a battle royal goi g on AND someone has released the black plastic spider that came in one of their bug packs. I'll have to find it and throw it away or I'll be nervous every time I see it. Looks just like one of those nasty black house spiders.

My cleaner found a plug!!!! I have put where woollies can't get it.

Funny little bit on a radio documentary tonight about call centres in India. Part of the training involves (in part, by some instructors) basic stereotypes to be aware of in regard to the Westerners the phone workers will be dealing with. What to know about Australians?

They're fanatical about their cats.

@ehBeth,
Seriously? Smile
That's incredibly useful information for the folk at those call centres!
Very funny.
