@msolga,
Seriously!

It was an interesting piece. The main guy being interviewed has a theory that these international call centres are going to be one of the best ways that people in different parts of the world will learn about each other in the next years.

@dlowan,
You'll be fine, Deb!

And if it's a lovely warm day, like it is here, I think you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Good luck! Smile

Took them across the 6 lane highway to the park.

Luckily it'a a quiet time of the day and there's a big grassy median strip.

Viola was good in the neighbour's garden she has been in before....but was scared in the park. I mainly carried her because Sebastian was all GO!!!

He LOVED it. We'd still be there if I didn't think it was being too hard on Viola's nerves. He ate grass climbed his first proper tree....then got scared about climbing down in proper catly fashion. Viola climbed it too but kept terrifying me by going around the tree where she might have hanged herself if she slipped.

He thought he was hunting the noisy minors which were attempting to mob him....and adored the birds of all sorts he could see and hear in the trees and flying around. Leaped what seemed 20 feet in the air to try and catch a noisy minor which was heckling him.

Did I mention scampering galloping and sniffing?

It's funny....he'd look to me and mew to see if I thought he should attempt a hard looking tree.

I think he might become one of those cats who can pretty much be walked like a dog....only with less distance and lots more say in what he wants to do. He pretty much will trot along where I want to go when I insist and finds being picked up when he is being stubborn aversive so I hope he will train himself fairly naturally. I might take just him out tomorrow and maybe try Viola on her own where she can take as long as she wants to feel safe and comfortable.

I might add that Sebastian is as friendly to people out in the world as he is in his own living room. Neither of them seems fussed by dogs.

It's kind of overcast and cool here.....didn't bother Sebastian but I think I'll wait until the sun is out for real for Viola's next outing......I think she's more of a basker than a runner.

Strawberries and cream and champagne in the stands at Wimbledon... not out on the courts running himself ragged like Sebastian.

NB: I have no working comma at present (stuff keeps disappearing and re-appearing on this keyboard) so my sentences are running together more than they ought.

I'm proud of that little guy, too, deb. Love it. Love him. Viola too, but right now he's in the spotlight.

Sorry to hear about the commas. Maybe you can team up with the author whose book I'm editing. He's got way too many commas. Hey author, send some of that punctuation to deb!

I thought you meant children, at first. Noisy children.

The outing sounds wonderful, yay Sebastian!

@sozobe,
You don't got noisy minors in the US?

They're a......well, noisy...medium sized bird. I think they hail from India or something.

They love to mob hawks and crows and cats....but Sebastian thought they were being kind and trying to get caught!

@dlowan,
We don't got noisy miners in the US. We got noisy mynahs. Noisy minors. And I guess miners on strike can be noisy.

Love meeting a new species. I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up on the beautiful animals thread.

@Roberta,
Whoa! We have both.

Noisy mynahs are an invasive pest species from India

Noisy miners are good natives.

@dlowan,
Spent about an hour in park with Sebastian.

Viola is Not Happy.

He loves eucalypts and pines and sniffagement generally. Loved the miners again...saw some magpies and galahs.

He's pooped. HATES being picked up when on a walk unless terrified. I have the blood flow to prove it. This will have to be settled...ie that if he gets picked up he bloody well copes with it......have to pick up for crossing roads and if he is being recalcitrant.

I have to say a cat seems to e almost as much a social draw as a dog!

Keyoard driving me nuts!

You never know what letters etc. it is going to choose not to type!

Don't know about Oz, but you can get a decent basic keyboard here at a computer store for around five dollars. Probably something similar there. And you can just plug it in and go--one of those petty annoyances that can really get to you, but can be alleviated pretty cheaply, which is much more relaxing than having to kvetch at it each time it forgets a "b". And then you can just throw the old one away, which can be very satisfying if it was letting you down (or you can save the key caps for the kits to bat around). I'm fine, deb, thanks for asking, following your saga breathlessly.

@dlowan,
Reading & listening, Deb.
As always.

It seems to me that Cornish Rex owners are kept very busy by their critters.
Do you think they require more time, attention & training than many other cat breeds?
Or perhaps you are being a very conscientious owner? (good on you, if so!)

I ask because I've always been a moggie owner (apart from Rats, who was a rather different variety of moggie).
Also because all my cats have been of the indoor/outdoor variety.
So perhaps the demands are rather different?

To cut my question short: are the Cornish Rex a "high maintenance" breed?
