@dlowan,
Could the compulsive biting be about his tooth problem? Maybe he is trying to loosen his milk teeth. And perhaps you should give him a bone, or some really sticky, tooth-pulling caramel candy.

@Thomas,
You didn't read my long post just before the short fang post, did you......now fess up and have a read.

Thing is, he seems to prefer biting me to the teething objects. Seems to want to bite them only when I am holding them.

Viola still very shy...even for a brief time with me when I first get home...she has to be sure it's me and not a stranger. Given her utter wild abandon with me this all seems very odd...I hope she overcomes it...Cornish Rex are supposed to be social butterflies!

Perhaps it's just a racial stereotype---like the one about Blacks having rhythm, or Asian faces not showing emotions.

@Thomas,
You're out courting trouble today,aren't you?

Woollies are very entranced with new boodaloo now that they can use it properly.

The swing door is transparent perspex, so they tend to act like kindergarteners and look at and harass each other when one is using it.

Odd....they never took any notice of each other when it was all out in the open.

There is something so absolutely soul nourishing about sharing time with happy cats.....(what do you think it is? I know you feel it!) they both react to me a lot when they wake a little...Viola with her usual joyous beaming and kissing....Sebastian by uncurling for a delicious tummy rub.

Yes there is indeed something very satisfying, Deb.
I can't put my finger on what it is, exactly.
To me, it's something to do with having lived with cats since I was really little ... and having had them around ever since.
A home without at least one cat would feel like a very strange place!
I know them very well & can read their responses pretty accurately.
And I think all of mine have gotten to know me very well!
I guess it's something about a very satisfying reciprocal relationship between humans & critters.
I tell myself it is not all about self-interest on their parts! Wink

I'm now hoping Sebastian's second big fang is gone & that you've saved yourself a small fortune at the vet's.

Both places look good - the Evandale one is a better location apropos the life you lead. It's more on the side of the city you work from also, isn't it?

I have something similar - 2 bedrooms, ground floor, small backyard for cat wrangling.

Olga - maps.google.com - even gives public transport options.

@dlowan,
Grrrrrrrrrr....

Just sent email to beg that two cats might be allowed at Evandale address....spoke of the quietness, gentleness and overall civility of cats.

Got home....they had barricaded the study door (very cleverly)...was able to get in via en-suite door.

Oh the horror!

Screen knocked down, standard lamp knocked down, scarves pulled down and tossed around....general utter chaos and madness.

Sebastian immediately went to laundry/bathroom......knocked down mop and bucket, scattered items on vanity, then cried heart-brokenly for some unknown reason.

Perhaps he regretted the unbelievable carnage in both areas?

I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.....

@dlowan,
Glad to hear about the fang. Smiling at the carnage. Don't know why but I love that stuff, even when it was happening to me. Signs of life.

Do you definitely positively absolutely have to move?

@dlowan,
This morning as I was brushing my teeth, I heard a crash in the dining room. Someone of the feline variety had BROKEN THE WOODEN ARM OF A CHAIR! Of course, they scattered. I have found pictures knocked off of walls! My dear sister in law, who loves cats and has always had several at a time, often mutters, "goddam cats..you can't have anything nice." Good luck on your email about the civility of your babies!

@mags314772,
If only they would be inspired by it.

Sounds like yours could use a right bollocking, too!

No, it's just something to kill time with when Deb isn't writing about Sebastian's poop.

You're right, Thomas.

Hey, Deb. How many milk teeth are left?
