@msolga,
The dried calf ear appears to have gone wherever the crew of the Marie Celeste went!
I've been letting him chew on cutlery, of all things. He insistently chewed on the claw cutter handle, so I let him have at the damaged bone handle of a knife I have. Seemed to love it. I'll keep it handy. Better than chewing mummy....he clearly wants to bite really hard, if he doesn't mind such hard surfaces. I notice his gums around the bottom of some of his milk teeth seem quite red and angry, so I assume he is in some pain and the biting helps it. There's no nasty look at the site he lost the fang....all looks well.
They are both exquisitely relaxed....Sebastian on the wicker box in my computer desk...a favourite of both of their's.....Viola is curled up on the fake fur rug she used to hate.
There is something so absolutely soul nourishing about sharing time with happy cats.....(what do you think it is? I know you feel it!) they both react to me a lot when they wake a little...Viola with her usual joyous beaming and kissing....Sebastian by uncurling for a delicious tummy rub.
Viola is one of those cats who does ecstasy very well...whether she is retrieving her new favourite mouse, greeting me, running in front of me and throwing herself on the ground to roll around and show her little (pink) tummy, or just stretching out.
Sebastian does boisterous.....though he cries for affection, or just to chat, and often reaches out a paw to connect. Licking and chewing me is still his great love. Viola just licks.
Sebastian is heart broken because I took away his shells from the bath. I gave him a set of hair dying gloves in that little plastic egg thing they come in, which made him ecstatic again...but he took it out of the bath and lost it. I can see I will need to get a torch and stick and look under all the furniture!
He's decided chasing stuff around the bath is the best. He also cries for me to turn the tap on....moving water is his delight. I may bring one of my water features inside to see if he can enjoy without destroying it. They both like to drink water from anywhere except their bowl. Sebastian enthusiastically drinks any bath water he can reach...the same water Viola tried to cover up as though it were wee when she tasted it! The washing up is Sebastian's moment or utter joy...or one of them...as is teeth cleaning.
All this lovely peace bodes ill for when I go to bed...which will be soon....as they are going to need a major romp before they will settle again after all this rest. I have learned to take bangs and crashes in the night philosophically, as well as being leaped on and raced over at immense speed as I am trying to sleep.
The cleaner rang me to tell me how much she loves them! She's a cat lover who could never bear to get another after her beloved long hair died young, and she is entranced by Sebastian's boldness.
Viola still very shy...even for a brief time with me when I first get home...she has to be sure it's me and not a stranger. Given her utter wild abandon with me this all seems very odd...I hope she overcomes it...Cornish Rex are supposed to be social butterflies!
