@margo,
Hmmmmm.....nothing in my price range appealing yet.

You do know I have a spare sofa in the study and there are the entire South Parklands at your doorstep here, don't you? Not to mention the city within easy walking distance.

I do worry that non-ozzians take my kvetching seriously!!! Perhaps people do not know that bastard and bugger are terms of serious endearment?

I do understand, Deb.
I have misunderstood the humour of foreign folk many a time!
About as much as my attempts at humour have been misunderstood by them, I'd say! Smile

I was actually up looking at hills properties!

Given I may have to move, think it's about time to have a squizz.

I'm told that the Adelaide hills (& the properties to be found there) are gorgeous, Deb!

Seriously, do you think a move from your current home might really be necessary?

Yeah - but latest reports indicate that your study is one unholy mess! Razz Cool

Been talking about the Flinders Ranges again ....but no-one else is interested!

Yes...but also gorgeous prices!

Yes....I can't manage the current strata fees (if they stay the same and don't reduce to pre-managing -major expenses prices) and the mortgage. I am getting further and further into debt.

One possibility is selling, and renting cheaply in a friend's sort of made into a bed and living room and kitchenette separate shed, while interest accrues a bit on sale price until I am able to purchase again.

Problem is friend may be moving soon, and getting her to accept a decent rent.

Whole idea makes me nauseous, but it's crazy going backwards.

It's settling after the initial major onslaught. Anyway, if you were house-sitting, you' be in my bedroom...plus kittens, of course.

But the study (which is supposed to be the main bedroom), has the en-suite you know....and access to the balcony)

Thinking about (and seriously relating to) how unsettling it is to find one's long-time home in jeopardy because of money.

Trying to come up with something encouraging to say.

BTW, I knew you were joking about the woollies. Just because I don't speak Australian doesn't mean I can't figure things out.

I admit to being one of the most impatient people in the world except when it comes to animals. I tolerate (and enjoy) just about anything.

@Roberta,
Woollies saved my bacon this morning!

Somehow I had turned sound off my alarm.

Woken by Sebastian at 8.08 instead of by alarm at 6.20!

Had there been a little paw inquisitively fiddling with knobs and buttons in the night, maybe?

Speaking of walking Viola. If they can do it, you can do it.

Nah, it was all my own work......I checked whether the volume was on or off, and must have turned it down accidentally....though come to think of it they DO insist on trying to get their mitts in to where my alarm clock is!

@MontereyJack,
I think cheetahs feel less threatened by things because of their size!

They're kind of doggy, though....I understand they have non-retractable nails like dogs.

@Roberta,
My home position is nowhere as bad as yours Boida. I own almost a third of mine, I do have the option of renting it out, and it may be tha the strata fees will come down as they are supposed to. Thing is, things never seem to come down once they have gone up!

@dlowan,
Cheetahs are the lightest of the large cats. They always feel threatened because lions, leopards, and hyenas steal their food and kill their babies.

Yes, they have nonretractable claws. It gives them traction when they're running, but it's at the sacrifice of weapons. Cheetahs haven't got claws as weapons.

Aren't you glad the subject came up. I'll go away quietly.

Glad you're not as much at risk as I am re the apt. I'm sympathetic anyway.

No more talk about cheetahs. Honest.

Glad the woollies got you awake.

@Roberta,
Cheetah talk very welcome here......especially if somebody has a cheetah kitten as a pet.

I think cheetahs have less to be fearful of than wee little puddy tats, though!

I am glad Sebastian woke me too.

Thank you for the sympathy...I shall accept it readily....I just didn't want you to think you had to give more than was due!

I have been here 11 years today....(it's 4th July here.)

What I wouldn't give to be able to have a savannah cat!!!

They won't let them into Australia.

Maybe if I win the lottery I can convince them to let a de-sexed one in!!!!

@dlowan,
My best friend recently bought a lovely black savannah kitten to replace her family's cat that won't die.

He's a gorgeous big thing already, but I can't really understand paying money like that for a cat.

@ehBeth,
They make BLACK savannahs?

I know...re the money.

I dream:

a. The price will come down

b. They'll let them into Oz.

They'd give me more pleasure than a bloody car would, and they cost way less, though.,

Something just gave me pause, though.

Sebastian just cuffed my face because I wouldn't let him taste my carrot. Very softly and claws in, but he did it.

A cat that size could give a bit of a biff if you wouldn't share your carrot with them.

@dlowan,
He was on his way up - lil bugger moves fast most of the time (when he isn't snoozing with his favourite dog) - hard to get non-blurry photos of him.
