@ossobuco,
The real-life Sebastian I worked with was called Sebby. Not a particularly elegant name but it works for the chunky ex-Navy Seal that he is.

Sebastian is a biter.

Perhaps you could call him Fang?
Or Fangs? Razz

Nah, forget that, back to the drawing board.

NOT Fang!

@dlowan,
Actually, only some of Miranda's nick names had anything to do with her name.

Common ones were Manda Banda, Wu (why Wu? Who knows), Megga, Meggles and Meggie.

Maybe Sebastian will be my little Bat or Batty?

@ehBeth,
Knowing me it's be more like Sebbles.

Basti ain't bad. After all there's the Egyptian Cat Goddess, Bastet or Bast or Baast.

@dlowan,
Wait.....International Whores Day?...how does one celebrate that?

@mags314772,
Dunno....my closest friend is opening the celebration here. She's trying to get prostitution legalized here. Part of the long journey towards proper working conditions for sex workers and all. Sounds cool!

It has a serious aim.....the name is clearly ironic...like slut walks only the whores thought of it first.

We gave a lot of wardrobe advice...basically suggesting black. As an MP she has to look dignified....but we so wanted her to go in leopard skin prints. She looks good in them!

Meanwhile Sebastian has won Woolly of the Week Award for using the Booda Loo after being shown ONCE.

My little boy is growing up!

@dlowan,
With some heavy duty ignoring of sundry snufflings and lickings and scratchings the kittens and I spent a peaceful night.

They didn't try to get up early! Mind you, it's very dark in the mornings.

@dlowan,
Good to hear the kids are behaving and growing up.

Nicknames need time. You'll find ones that fit. They don't have to be name-related, as I'm sure you know.

@Roberta,
Starting to come when they are called! I didn't realise cats had to be taught that. These kittens really are under-socialised.

Ha, they've come to the right place, then!
You will fix them up in no time!

OK, I bow to your better judgment, Deb.
I am now formally withdrawing "Fang" from the list of possible nicknames for Sebastian.
How about "Sebbles"? Wink

I can't think of a reasonable shortening of Sebastian, which is somewhat problematic.

In Cherman, ze shortening of choice vould be "Basti".

Edit: I see Osso has already beaten me to it.

I think they may need washing....they're looking a bit oily.

Based on your description, Viola feels the same way about you. Couldn't you take her hint?

hey deb, Here's a link to a very old thread of mine--Pet Names for Pets. Granted a pet name and a nickname are two different things. It's not likely to be helpful, but you may find a quick browse amusing.

http://able2know.org/topic/3090-1

Does an oily coat mean they need a bath? Maybe it's just natural. I don't know nuttin' about woolly cats.
