@sozobe,
Of course....slept really badly last night!

Msolga..woollies have, indeed, used the new bed as a favourite toy....their main intent appears to be to test construction and bed linen to destruction...each in their own favourite way.

I was peeved to find it was pretty much dark when I got home despite daylight saving......but I gave them a good dose of Da Bird anyway....also did some tidying.

They don't know it, but I have a catmax kaboodle on lay by for them.

@dlowan,
And, of course, Viola pissed on the totally new, no old pee smells, virgin bedlinen right while I was writing that!

I have had recourse to asking a question on a cat forum. I'm beat.

@nextone,
Indeed. Currently it's 11.37 pm and I must rise at six....but woollies are delighting in the just achieved liberation of Da Bird from where they had wound it around the electro power board in my bedroom....managing to pull down the phone, lose my iPad/iPhone recharger, and generally create havoc in the process.

Now they are playing with it noisily again.

@dlowan,
Damn, I miss the chaos. I miss the action. I miss the mess. I miss having a pet.

Kvetch all you want to, bunny (especially about the pee), but you've got it good. And we both know it.

@Roberta,
Whoa....half the new screen security doors installed today.....he has to come back and do French doors.

WHOA,! Love the colour....can't wait for surrounds to be painted so I have more of it.....but the transparency!

The crim mesh looks really heavy when you see the sample....but installed....it's like you're looking straight into garden! Lovely! No privacy, but I wanna see out!

According to My Cat from Hell, a cat-whisperer TV series here in the US, cats consider the bedroom the center of family life. That's why they lovingly add their pheromones to the mix, to announce that they're part of the family. Viola's pheromones, so prevalent on your old linen, were completely absent from the new, so she helpfully replenished them. You're such an ungrateful mommy!

@Thomas,
I could have been a great deal MORE ungrateful....in which case she'd be entering lunar orbit right about now with the prints of my shoe on her bum.

@dlowan,
Oh my...how are the mighty fallen!

Sebastian, the very Nijinski and Achilles of hunters.....indoors....was taken out into the garden tonight while I gardened.

Murray Magpies, wattle birds and Willie wagtails one by one entered into combat with him....hovering only inches above his head at times.

He THOUGHT about leaping at them, he CHITTERED at them....he SAID he was gonna git 'em....but not once did he actually launch himself at them.

@dlowan,
Sebastian hasn't fallen. He was showing you how kind, gentle, thoughtful, and considerate he could be. A true nature lover. He wasn't chittering at the birds. He was telling you how easily he could get them. But he was just too good to hurt another living thing.

A truly beneficent being, he is. Googled DaBird, Deb, never having actually seen one in real life (or I guess in their case, pseudo-life). If they're getting too expensive or time-consuming to order and then wait for delivery, thought maybe you could get some feathers at a craft supply store and some small styrofoam shapes and stick the feathers in 'em at appropriate places and make your own (maybe cork shapes--recycle your excess champagne corks? not having tried it I don't know if you can actually stick feathers in corks).

Sounds like you're feeding him too much. Don't worry, he'll work for his food when he has to.

@dlowan,
Apricot was lethal re indoor critters. If it zoomed or fluttered, crept or scurried, she was on it. She would crouch on the windowsill her tail tip ticking, and would keep clicking and chittering murder songs at birds and squirrels. Damn glass, damn screens!

When she was in the yard she'd go after insects, but never birds. She would lie in the sun watching birds, but not going for them. Cats.....go figure.
