Bada bing. And the clutch kills her knee when she's in stop start traffic for a long time. Also, this is 1.4 liter engine.....I think two hours a day commute needs a bit more grunt.

Oh boy....I'm stuffed. Two hours to get home tonight. Stopped off to pick up a microwave and was stuck in traffic for ages...then had to get said microwave from car to living room. The teeny little female shop assistant carried it easily. I didn't....especially up steps. I, who used to be able to lift chaff bags with ease!

Woollies said they were starving.

They went absolutely nutso this morning! Sebastian galloping around, yelling, jumping to the top of every cupboard, door, cd tower, shower alcove and box he could find....and going berserk with his tunnel. Viola ditto and, for the first time, also darting through the tunnel and scaring the bejesus out of Sebastian when she tackled him at the other end.

@dlowan,
What's a chaff bag?

Why am I having so much trouble understanding what people are saying on this thread?

I know it's English.

Sorry to hear about the long commute and the heavy microwave.

Glad to hear that the woollies are in good form.

@Roberta,
It's a sack of chaff....the same size as a sack of wheat. A sack of chaff or wheat comes up to my chest. It's heavy.

Chaff is hay cut into small sections for feeding to horses....it often includes grain and such.

Do you have any public transport options?

@dlowan,
I've ridden a motorcycle with a bigger engine than that...

can you still get one of those mad max cars?

that would clear you some space in the commuter lane...

To Max in the dank Maximum Force garage:
"Here she is, the last of the V8 Interceptors, nitro, phase 4 heads, 600 horsepower, the blower, this bitch is born to run".

Max in "Road Warrior": Max pulls out the nitro injection switch and rockets away.

You got your nitro boost set up for the commute yet, Deb?\\

At one point there was a whole mini-industry in Oz creating Mad Max replicars; maybe there's one you can get on the used car market.

It's you, Deb.

@MontereyJack,
I've often thought about picking up an old javelin or matador and modifying it to look aussie enough to pass.

then stick a big old blower out of the hood and go raise some shades of hell.

I'd certainly let the bunny drive it for a photo op should it ever come to pass...

I agree with jack.

it's her...

(sorry, can't get my picture of the Road Warrior car in front of the Silverton Hotel to link up).I think that's very generous of you, Rock. According to one of the sources online, it was a "73 Australian Ford XB Falcon GT coupe, with serious modifications (I"m not sure if that was bais of the standard Maximum Force patrol car, or the Max mod one).

@dlowan,
Hey, Deb. I know what chaff is. I never thought of it in a sack. I thought you were using an Oz expression I didn't know.

I can't picture you schlepping a sack of chaff. But I can picture you walking on the beach.

How are the woollies? Are they still adjusting?

@margo,
Possibly.....need to explore it properly. Possible I may be able to drive to train stop and get a train. Depends on how much it costs to park car all day. Also, I use my car a lot for work.

@Roberta,
They're a bit browned off about my long days away! I leave between seven and eight am and seem to be getting home around six to seven thirty pm.

I've been too buggered to do more unpacking.....grrrrrrrrrrrr.

@dlowan,
For the first time an end is in sight....far away still, but in sight.

I can see lots of floor. I think the books are all unpacked. A kitchen is gradually emerging from the chaos. I have put the kitchen trolley together. I have been able to get to all the living room blinds for the first time and actually have some privacy at night!

The painter came today and can paint after the new secure screen doors are installed, so I can give the door people the go ahead.

I think I will pick the new car up on Tuesday...left my damn diary at work so can't really be sure.

Woollies extremely playful and chirpy. Sebastian has started getting out the front door every chance he has....he's a menace!

My other neighbor came to visit today and seems great...

@msolga,
I'm good.....had a bit of a post natal depression thing....pretty normal for such a dramatic three months....then the property manager for the new owner called my real estate agent to ask for something and went into a bizarre rant about how I had left my apartment filthy.....and, wait for it....covered in pubic hair!

Given it wasn't filthy when I left, and I paid a reputable company for seven hours of cleaning, with a guarantee that they would leave it in the best possible state for a place that has been lived in for twelve years (I have had them in before when I left properties and had glowing reports) plus I had the carpets steam cleaned by a guy I have used before and been very happy with, I was really, really upset.

Especially intimating I had left everything covered with pubic hair!

I was disappointed with myself because I absolutely lost my temper with the property manager and really screamed at her. I have only ever done that once before in my LIFE!

Icy rationality is best with such people.

I am still absolutely stunned and distressed that someone would defame me like that....I feel slimed.

Anyhow, I am getting over it...new car makes commute MUCH easier.

Became aware woollies had not been played with enough and Sebastian was getting gloomy, so have played with them a lot since I got home a while ago. Must find Da Birds!

Had a lovely day with friends today and have a lovely day planned for tomorrow. Then Monday will be devoted to finishing unpacking and Internet and bed should arrive on Wednesday.

I can understand why you were really, really upset, Deb!
Pubic hair?
How utterly ridiculous & how offensive!
I'm really sorry you had to deal with such crap! I would have lost my temper, too. Grrrr!

But on the credit side ... are you close to being all unpacked?
Is it feeling more like home there?
