@Roberta,
Love that tradition!

I give salt, bread and oil, though.

Thank you.

Woollies home.....exploring happily.

So good to hear, Deb!
Adaptable creatures, your woollies. Smile

Quote:
My neighbor, Val, whose mother was a Lakota, has been in to give me a rubbish collection schedule and met the woollies. She has told me there is an excellent handy couple on the corner, who give mates rates to locals.

And a helpful neighbour, too!
A real bonus!
(beats a hostile one any day! Wink )
Is Val the owner of the small yappy dogs?

I have done very little unpacking....time was I would have been up all night and have finished it by now!

Take your time, Deb.
You have most likely been more concerned with Viola & Sebastian than unpacking boxes today.
And after the last few days' mad activities, no doubt you are physically & emotionally (sorta) stuffed! You will sleep like a log tonight! (I hope V & S do, too!)
Just go with the flow, Deb.
You can only do what you can do at the time.
You don't have to meet anyone's requirements but your own.
No rush.

@dlowan,
Deb, What does the oil represent?

Glad you''re home with the woollies. I can't imagine how spent you are. Would I be silly and unrealistic to suggest that you try resting for a while? You deserve at least one lump day, even in the midst of chaos.

@msolga,
One of the dogs is larger....not that I have seen her yet...and was rescued from a wheely bin where she had been stuffed and left to die after having been savagely beaten....: - (

The other is a little terrier. They havent been bad today. Both cat haters.

Boida...I don't know what the oil represents....plenty?

Hmmmm ....
I guess that means the woollies will never be allowed to venture outside, into your yard, for a tiny, wee bit?

So ... what are you & the woollies doing tonight?
Enough energy to cook dinner, Deb?
Warm enough (for all 3 of you), I hope?
Or maybe you've hit the bed already?
I wouldn't be at all surprised.
What a hectic week it's been!

@msolga,
Woollies still skittering around exploring and bobbing up in odd places. Lots of kisses and cuddles in between, especially from Viola. They have eaten and I heard someone using a litter tray....I am anxiously awaiting similar sounds!

I am lying reading, hoping to provide a secure base. About to have bath in old claw foot tub...if I can find the plug!
I had sprouted bread and cheese for dinner...I have some garlic and lemon chicken cooked, but no ladles or cutlery!

@Roberta,
I had a lump day today! Except for a tiny bit of unpacking and going down to get woollies.

Just had a bath in the huge tub. I'm clean again at last!

Morning, Deb!
Morning, Viola!
Morning, Sebastian!

How are things with all of you today?
Hope it's as beautiful a day there as it is here today (sunny & the wind has finally ceased. Phew!)

I am more than happy to donate some excess cutlery if you don't find yours soon, Deb. Smile

@dlowan,
Hope you got a lot done today, Deb.
The more stuff you're able to find when you need it, the better you'll feel. Smile

Found the cutlery yet?

@msolga,
Nowhere near enough.....I'm sort of a bit paralyzed or exhausted or some damn thing. I think I'll get someone in to help me....I think that will work better.

I kind of got like that after I had the tummy bug....I think it all just got a bit much at that point.

I have found some plastic cutlery! just had strawberries with raspberry coulis. Mmmmmmmmm.......

Found saucepans and some crockery. Have the first porta robe full of clothes hung. The study is bigger than I thought and so far things seem to be fitting in there just fine. I actually need some help hauling one bookcase atop another.

Now that I have the plastic knife I can unwrap boxes much faster!

Just watered the pot plants I brung with me! I can now wash all the leaves of my ficus benjaminas easily and make them sparkle!

Sat on the verandah and watched the sunset and the bored until it got too cold.

Yeah, I think I understand..
I think you've just been through too much in a very short time. (Viola's illness, selling your home, the funding/bank stuff-ups, then moving so suddenly... say nothing of your "normal" work demands!)
You just couldn't stop before ... but now the most demanding stuff is over, your body just wants to stop & rest.
You're probably a bit stuffed, having run on adrenaline for the past couple of months or so ...
Does that sound plausible?
It does to me.

Anyway, Deb, one of the good things about living on your own is that you don't have to please anyone but yourself.
So long as you can find your underwear (& the cutlery & the remote! Wink ), can feed yourself & the woollies & you feel comfortable with things, what does it matter how long it takes to get the place perfectly set up?
It doesn't affect anyone else but you.
If you're OK with that, then what's the rush? Smile

What kinda boids?

Green with envy over your big bathtub. How I miss them. Stretching out in the bath.

Enjoy the walkin closet. I've had them and have them now. Don't get lost in there.

You have a study? Green with envy again. Maybe I'll just stay permanently mint colored.

Thinking about you. Glad you're taking some time for yourself.

As one of my authors would say, You've been through the ringer.
