@ehBeth,
I'm with you, thank you!

I kind of hope that.....given everything in life seems to have a certain amount of **** that goes with it....all the **** to do with this move is happening now and that it will be a good decision and a happy home!

It will pass, Deb, it will pass.
But in the meantime:
Your current home will look more splendid (& comforting!) than it ever did before!
Wah. Your current suburb is so much nicer than where you're going to!
And you'll notice (when you move into your new place) that all the rooms have shrunk! They were definitely bigger than this the last time you looked! Shocked
And the woollies will be a bit bewildered & run around sniffing everything suspiciously .. The guilt, the guilt .. you've taken them from their real home! What a terrible thing to do to them!
And the neighbours! You you didn't even consider the neighbours! There's definitely something odd about those people at no. 45! Shocked
Wink

... Just recalling some of my more wobbly moments when I moved from my last place (which I loved) to here ....
All of the above. Plus quite a few more!
But it all passes .... really it does.
Promise. Smile

I remember reading one of those "major life stressors" lists online a while back (when I was moving I think. Ha.) & nodding my head in full agreement. Moving house is (apparently) one of life's biggies, up there with divorce & other wobbly moments.
But I'm sure you know all of this already, but just saying to remind you, as you pack your boxes ....
Everything's gonna be ok.
Keep packing those boxes. Smile

@dlowan,
How's our stomach ache?

I wish I could be there to help you, except I wouldn't be much of a help. But I'd kibbutz. Hang in, bunny. Hang in. Moving sucks, but being in a new place doesn't. You gotta do one to get to the other.

Poor Deb.

@Roberta,
My stomach is still very unhappy.

Reasons to be cheerful.....I have eaten some junky stuff lately from noives, also cos i bought the loveliest chocolate for my co-workers to thank them for Viola support, and couldnt resist having some....now I am back to pre junk weight.

Note to self....need to arrange goodies for vet staff....

Goddess, I really am panicked!

I guess it had to happen, eh?

Packing up to leave a place is a royal pain in the bum, isn't it?
Still, I hope you've made considerable progress today, Deb.

@dlowan,
You're a very thoughtful person. Remembering treats for people in the midst of the mayhem.

I have very little to offer (other than mirron neurones) for moving. I've moved very few times in my life. And twice I moved in the same building, so I didn't have to pack everything.

Sympathetic. Far away. Wishing the damned this was done.

@dlowan,
This time next week (I think), you will have moved, be in and settling, and be at the beach... it will happen and it will all get done. You will be residing in your lovely new home with the woolies.

List. Make a list.

Big black marker pen - LABEL BOXES for each room.
Elec/gas readings.
Notify GP of new address and phone number.
Change of address for the post office (all the other change of addresses can wait until you're settled as all your mail will be redirected, so you can do it one at a time)
Change of address for bank and credit cards, mobile.
Arrange for internet connection to be connected asap.
Keep house insurance documentation with you so it's accessible if need be.
etc

Throw bottle of vino de callapso, chocolate, toiletries, meds, change of clothes, beach shoes, doona, sheet, pillow and necessities into the boot of the car, so all you need to do when you get there is have a glass of wine on the beach, make up bed, clean your teeth and go to sleep. Then the fun starts, unpacking and making the house a home.

Moving house, it all just seems to happen and before you know it, it's done and dusted and you'll wonder where in the heck the last week went. Whatever you don't manage to do, the movers will do on the day.

Good onya, you're nearly there.
