If I don't get the loan, I have less than two weeks to find somewhere to live.

Yikes, Deb!
Could you stay with a friend (with your stuff in storage) if it actually comes to that? I do hope it doesn't!
I was in a similar predicament (though nowhere near as urgent) when I needed a loan to buy this house. (Waiting for the deposit from the sale of the previous place to come through, to pay the deposit on the place I was buying ... Rolling Eyes )
Anyway, to cut a long & excruciating story short, the agent (who was selling my/our old house) suggested approaching another bank for the loan I needed to cover the new purchase. Even suggested one which he thought would oblige (Bendigo Bank) & they did! Phew!
Just a suggestion, but it might be worth checking out another bank or two to see if they'll oblige, if your own bank remains a problem?

@msolga,
I have contacted two new mortgage providers but all are closed....gave requested contact monday ASAP

Will now look at bendigo....thank you.

I have no idea if current problem big or small, but an FURIOUS that possible problem has only been identified since I began hassling providers myself.

NEVER USE PATHWAY FINANCE.....THEY ARE HOPELESS!,,

I can stay with friend....but storage will be ridiculously expensive. It's hard because I don't know if problem is nothing, or a real drama. It hopefully clarifies Monday. First option to expo lore will be renting here for a bit.

IF you can be bothered, Deb, I'd contact the management of that firm & register your anger at their incredible incompetence.
And demand a reduction in the fee you're being charged by them.
Worth a go, but I don't know how much energy you want to invest (say nothing of how much extra stress it would cause!) , given all the other stuff you now need to deal with in such a short time frame ...

Agh, what an absolutely fabulous way to start your weekend!
A pox on Pathway Finance, I say!
Grrrrr...

I'm hoping that you will be able to relax & unwind a bit, at least, over today & tomorrow.
Here's hoping that S & V are able to supply you with some happy distractions. Smile

It had better!
Re storage ... if it comes to that (god forbid!). Know anyone with a huge, empty garage in their backyard? (grasping at straws here, as you can gather. Wink )

On the credit side, even if there is a delay .... I doubt that your house at the beach would be sold in the meantime, given the flatness of the housing market at the moment.
It's all just so much messier than it needed to be!

I think the family o' skunks have moved on from the barn now, I would hafta check for sure.

Damn, deb. Why does everything have to be a pain in the ass?

Hoping for a very quick and painless outcome. Hey you finance people. Give deb the money and let her move to the beach!

Muttering dirty words on your behalf.

@Roberta,
I still have my big tent from my last a2k roadtrip.

da wabbit is welcome to use it to move to the beach until the house clears.

I re-waterproofed it so it doesn't leak now...(I got pretty wet last time. who ever heard of a new tent that needed to be weatherproofed...?)

or if a little muscle with attitude is called for, I am open to a quick mission to the strange and wonderful upside down paradise they call home...

or maybe common sense will prevail, and all of this will work out to be less than a circus.

I'd hate to have to try and explain cornish rexes to stinky.

he's not very tolerant of weird cats...

You are kindness itself, Rocky!
I'm certain that Deb will accept your generous offer/s without hesitation! Smile

But as for Stinky, Sebastian & Viola getting along .... I still hold grave concerns! Wink

I have to say, it's driving me crazy......and it isn't a long drive.

There always seems to be some damn drama when you're buying or selling. I wonder when I'd have discovered the problem if I had not taken things into my own hands?

Msolga....you don't pay a mortgage broker a fee....the banks pay them.

Dirty words received with thanks!

Ah, I see. Didn't know how that worked, probably because I haven't used used them.

@msolga,
Woollies good. Enjoying the heater as we speak. Had a wild session with Da Bird earlier...longing for another....though Viola is taken with the little soft toy that arrived with the Da Birds. Another three have arrived....I now have four in all, given that Viola killed the last one and Sebastian the one before that. I no longer pull the Birds away from them when they catch them, but persuade them to give them to me. They loved the tug of war, but it is too hard on the Birds.

How are YOU and YOUR little darling?

Laughing
Sounds like madness & mayhem (though of the good sort!) at your place, Deb.
I wish I could see them at it!
Compared to those sorts of wild goings on, things seem very serene & sedate here.
We're both good, thanks for asking.

@dlowan,
Ack! And discovering it on a Saturday too so you have to wait a maximum amount of time to get some answers. Hope that the answers, when snagged, indicate that this is minor and easily-resolved....

@sozobe,
Actually I discovered it just before five on Friday....so I have had maximum useless fretting time available to me!

I was surprised that none of the mortgage places seemed to have a Saturday morning service. Ah well.
