@Rockhead,
We used to have a very well known cat colony.....known as the rock cats.....at Henley Beach.

Heaps of rocks had been piled up as a breakwater to protect the foreshore and the cats lived amongst them, living off beachgoers and local restaurants.

It was very odd to see kittens playing at the beach!

I'll likely try Sebastian at the beach.....I think Viola would get stressed.

Our Da Birdsarrived last night.....and were actually left near the letter boxes instead of my having to try to get to PO to collect them!

Woollies EXTREMELY happy to see them.

We just had a vigorous game while my morning coffee was brewing.

@Roberta,
Yep.

Finally my place has sold next to it.

Viola busted Da Bird number one. All by herself. Dese Da Birds ain't entirely structurally sound when caught.
Then Sebastian grabbed the feathers and acted as though HE killed Da Bird!

@dlowan,
Does this mean I can do the other yay? Or are you still waiting.

What are these bird things? They sound like something I have for Mikey. Feathers on a string on a stick. When you swing the stick, the feathers flutter--like a boid. He loved that thing.

@dlowan,
buyer has finance

does that mean you're moving regardless of what else happens?

@ehBeth,
Yep.

Although, worst case scenario, if I don't get finance, my buyer is renting the place out, so I'd try to rent back for a bit.

I'm still waiting.

Mikey's toy sounds like Da Bird.

Wee little Viola already murdered the new one....you telling me huge, fierce Mikey didn't murder them?

@dlowan,
Waiting is what I thought.

Mikey didn't kill nuttin' (including mice).

Da Bird would fly. He would do everything he could to catch it. When he caught it, he let it go so I could fly it again. The thrill of the hunt appealed to him more than the thrill of the kill. Good thing. He was so big, he coulda destroyed all his toys if he was so inclined.

Good! That sounds like she's well again. Better than Da Bird II, certainly.

@Thomas,
Da bird II is passed away, defunct, it has shuffled off this mortal coil, it has gone to meet its maker, it's an ex Da Bird, it's pushing up the daisies, it is no more......

Da Bird III is looking anxious and slightly battered.

@dlowan,
I look over at Mikey, one day. He's standing in the doorway with a mouse in this mouth. He puts it down. At first it just stood there. Probably in shock. Then it ran away. Mikey came over to be petted. I wrote a poem about this a long time ago (when I had Mikey).

I guess he lacked follow through. I loved the big lug anyway.

@Thomas,
Yes I am.

Bought some fabulous chocolates today for my co -workers. Left them on the lunch room table with a thank you card to the team from the woollies for looking after their mum. Used your idea Thomas....that is that mum had inexplicably gone nuts and begun weeping constantly. Added that I had sent Viola to prison, where she had been used got medical experiments and generally tortured.

@dlowan,
Is this Da Bird a parrot? You reminded me of the parrot sketch from Monty Python.

No.....but I shamelessly plagiarized the parrot sketch to speak of its demise.

@dlowan,
Looks like there's a problem. Of course, nobody will tell me what it is, but the team leader of the company that manages my mortgage was said to be trying to sort it out with the actual lender, ING, yesterday afternoon. Seems as though there is a chance I might get some bloody answers on Monday.

Lucky I stopped listening to my mortgage broker on Thursday and tackled the companies direct. The actual lender had not even heard about the the substitution of security when I called Thursday.

I already hated the dumbness of having a bank lending the money and some company managing the actual loan from then on in, but I could save a few thousand by sticking to the same people, which seemed worth it at the time.

If I don't get the loan, I have less than two weeks to find somewhere to live.

The people selling to me have now also bought and are now also caught up in this drama.
