@Roberta,
Miranda watching kittens play with what appears to be almost benign interest.

deb, Glad she's tolerating the kittens. A good sign. Vomiting. Not a good sign. What does the vet say?

Cannot afford to consult vet until I get paid....I need to get new tablets for Miranda then (Thursday) so I'll see how she is going.

@dlowan,
Viola has manners!

She was sitting by me as I typed... on top of the scratching post.....body tense with anticipation of S coming in and pouncing on her...intent on that.

I spoke to her, and she ignored me at first, then suddenly her whole attitude changed, and she softened and gave me a big lovely cat smile....then turned back to her game with S.

Just as you might stop a moment to reassure a child you love them when you are utterly intent on an important task!

@ossobuco,
/Woollies don't know it yet, but they are Monarchs of the Road round here.

The Queen is dead...long live the woollies.

@dlowan,
The Queen has gone.
Long live the Queen!

I am certain that young Viola has picked up quite a few queenly tips from Miranda.
And I know they will stand her in good stead! Smile

But seriously, how are they reacting to her absence?
Or are they too little for such things to have much impact on them?

@dlowan,
Kittens and I on my bed.

They were never allowed in Miranda's room so this is fascinating for them

@msolga,
They are settling

Of course my bedroom is full of things kittens could destroy

We shall see.

I think they'll still be in study during day.....until they stop being so wild!

Their claws really need trimming.

That's gonna be a fun thing to do first time.

Glad S and V are there so you didn't have to come home to an empty house.

@dlowan,
I went out cos I wasn't ready to sleep, and watched a David Attenborough on Monkeys... Sebastian watched it with fascination the whole way through! Viola watched half of it.

Hilarious....two little heads with pricked ears peering at the TV with awe!

@dlowan,
When did Miranda die? I have been following this thread pretty consistently, and in one post you said you were going to take her to the vet Thursday. Then there was a post about her being dead.

@mags314772,
It's now 1.20 am thursday Adelaide time.

I had to take Miranda to the vet on Wednesday morning because she was unwell.

She was put to sleep at about 10 am Adelaide time.

I get paid in the morning, so I will pay vet over the phone when I get to work later today.

Kittens mad....will see if they settle when I turn light out.

If not it's the study for them!

@dlowan,
I'm so sorry! It's always hard to lose a baby, even if they're unwell and old. But it's wonderful you have those two lovely young scamps to keep you entertained.
