@Roberta,
Poor Viola...I just stuffed up getting her nastiest pill down her and we had a struggle. Must have tasted DISGUSTING!

She's happily eating chicken, though, so I think all is well.

@dlowan,
Have you tried masking the taste of the pill with the taste of something she really likes, Deb?

Some years ago G & I had to feed poor old Billy Baxter (a beautiful grey tabby Smile ) constant pills ... which he loathed!

But Billy B loved cheese ... so we "coated" each pill with it.
He came to look forward to pill time. Smile

What taste does Viola really like?

@msolga,

Ruby is going through Chemo and we have to do that dreaded thing too, he has a love of ham so we wrap it in ham.

Sardines? Cats love Sardines, or Tuna most do, good suggestion msolga. Smile

@msolga,
So far it hasn't been a drama.....only just tonight.

That was the last of the antibiotic that is really harsh.

I'd thought of butter....I have some Brie left from dinner tonight....might try that.

She will eat pretty much anything! Sebastian started eating the roses someone brought tonight!

Good (Monday) morning, Deb.
How is Viola today?
I'm hoping she's feeling even better.
(Same with Sebastian's gastro problems.)
And how are you?
I hope you managed to have some rest on the weekend!

@msolga,
Hi Msolga...thank you for asking!

She seems fine....getting very greedy again. I DID find my first spat out pill this morning...clearly last night's antibiotic.

I am a bit worried because I notice she is still twitching and shaking a bit when she is relaxing on top of me. I hope this may fade gradually, though if she did have meningitis that, plus the high temperatures, may have done some permanent brain damage I guess. I'll check it out with vet.

She was very relaxed during the dinner on Saturday night...not smoochy like Sebastian, but very present.

Sbastian tried to eat some roses I was given!

I bought more of the sensitive tummy stuff for Sebastian and he seems ok with it. He chucked up the normal Indoor stuff I give them.

I have been reading a lot about raw food guidelines for cats. Have you heard about that movement, Msolga?

@dlowan,
Hi Deb,Glad the cats are doing well. The talk of pills reminded me of giving a tranq to my terrier Pookie. I'd never pilled him, and without thinking I dropped the blue pill into his empty yellow dish. Scarfed down in a blink. Dog, mind you, NOT cat.

@nextone,
Thank you nextone.

Viola thinks one of her pills is a treat! She takes it eagerly and looks for more. She actually took the packet out of its bag and tried to break into it on Saturday!

@sozobe,
Well, given he has a legal obligation to inform the vendor, via their agent, prior to the end of cooling off, I would hesitantly say it almost is!

It's 11.06 pm Monday night here.

I might add he paid the deposit earlier today.
