@Roberta,
Morning, Roberta
It's almost 7 am, Deb time.
I'm worrying, too.
I'll be thinking of you & Viola today, Deb.
Sebastian, too.
Fingers tightly crossed!

@Roberta,
It's 7.08 am.

Nobody at vet until about. 8.30

I have to say I'm concerned she may have died in the night. I'm due up there after nine to bring her meds and some normal food.

@Thomas,
Not really....he's just kind of quiet and lost.

It's funny....although he's more out there and a lot stronger than she is, she has remained the emotionally dominant cat. I don't think he's quite sure what to do without her here.

I feel the same. Well, I know what to do, but I dont feel a lot like doing it.

@dlowan,
Very relieved to find Viola alive this morning! She was up and moving around and went into a lerve frenzy when she saw me. It was good to see her also responding very lovingly to the vet nurse.

Her tummy was still distended, though...so I think they might go ahead and x ray her....in case it's a result of heart failure or a foreign body.

She's by no means out of the woods, but it was lovely to see her clearly feeling better.

@dlowan,
whew

had to check before I go up to bed

I hope it's something simple (like an inhaled feather - that would be simple, right?)

@ehBeth,
Well, it would be an eaten feather. If she has a foreign body I think that means bowel surgery....not very simple I fear.

@Roberta,
I've been pretty busy...just stopped now...wondering whether to call and see if there is any more information. She will remain in "hospital" at least overnight tonight.

@dlowan,
Just got home & am reading your post from this morning, Deb.

Ah. That sounds like much more normal Viola behaviour. Smile
That sounds very positive, compared to your previous posts.
Smiling here.

Has her temperature gone down? (I sure hope so!)

Waiting to hear the latest developments, along with everyone else.
I'm hoping your vet is much closer to identifying the cause of her condition .... & that Viola has perked up even more during the day!

@msolga,
Her temperature has gone up since this morning...so they are adding to the spectrum covered by the antibiotics.

If it goes down and stays down they'll likely let her home sometime tomorrow. If not, they'll want to do x-rays and more bloodwork.

Sigh. her tummy feels better apparently and she remains lively and happy.

But it's all pretty mysterious and worrying.

Are YOU any better Msolga?

Very confusing, isn't it, Deb?
That she should appear so much better this morning when you saw her, yet her temperature has gone up.
Also that her tummy feels better, too.
It is very hard (for a non-vet) to figure out what is happening.

It is so good to hear that she is lively & happy! Smile

Yes it really is.

Considerably better compared to last Friday. Though not 100%.
But don't worry about me, Deb.
You have more than enough to worry about on your home front!

How are you?

And how is Sebastian today?

@msolga,
I'm a tad bleh. This is not a nice thing to be dealing with. Poor little girl! I am almost doing the "I can't bear to have another animal because it hurts so much when they die" thing. I normally think that that attitude is silly...it's life, deal with it people....is my normal attitude, but losing Viola so young would be a big blow. Very big.

Still, I'll deal with it I'm sure if the worst happens.

The house thing is a bit taxing too. But I'll live!

Thank you for caring, it means a lot.

Glad to hear you are picking up!

I know.
I think other friends of yours here know that, too, Deb.
It feels so unfair, so wrong that this & her previously diagnosed problems have happened.

I know you will, Deb.
But early days yet.
I really hope your vet is able to make an accurate diagnosis.
At the very least, then you'll know exactly what you're dealing with, with Viola.
And that's important to your peace of mind.

I know. And more than a "bit", too!
I worry about you dealing with so much stress at the one time.
This is a very tough time for you, but hang in there!

@dlowan,
Deb, I know that you'll deal with whatever happens. You'll cope. There's too much tension filled stuff going on now for you.

Hey, vet. Cure that woolly!

Sighing big time.

And thinking about you. But you knew that.

You're both very kind.

Sebastian and I had a big cuddle and smooch a while ago and he has gone to sleep.
