whew! a relief to know things are going (relatively) okay. Hope the trip to Ceduna, wherever that may be, isn't too strenuous. Even tho your entire continent is standing upside down, don't fall off on your way there.

Soz, I had no idea cats around the world were so devilishly ingenious until I tried to find your video. I thought this was a good one, was it yours? Better chain down the door on yours before you go, Deb, who knows what they'll figure out next when mum's not there.

@MontereyJack,
That's it, yes. I love his intense stare at the beginning. You can tell that cat has some brains.

@sozobe,
Lol!

Not Siamese...maybe Burmese with points?

Thank heavens my fridge has recessed handles.

That cat is weird for eating frozen fish! Fishcicles? Piscicles?

@sozobe,
It's onlyna day. I have to lift my little suitcase now because the bastards ripped its extension handle off last time! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.....

What's annoying is that I have to work the next day...a meeting of all the carers that look after a kid I'm consulting on took so long to arrange that I wasn't prepared to say no to that day. I'll have to go in fairly early to prepare a presentation too.

I certainly can see why!

I'm not sure I have the fortitude to host a real-live Siamese-y type cat (not to mention two of them) but I certainly enjoy videos and photos and written accounts.

You'd love them, I really think you would. And EG might even be able to tolerate them. I'm violently allergic to non oriental type cats...violently.

@dlowan,
That's why I said Siamese-y type as opposed to Siamese -- that whole crew is definitely different from your garden-variety calico, say. (AKA my cats.)

You're probably right. He might respect their intelligence, too. Of dogs, he likes border collies, even though I tell him that in real life (our current real life anyway) he wouldn't actually want one.

@sozobe,
Woollies, unlike me, are remarkably good humoured when woken at ten to five am.

I am quite the grump.

Also, I know the damned taxi will be early.....it's due at ten to six.

@dlowan,
Took woollies for a walk in the evening yesterday. I had planned to take them separately but got home with no time to do so.

Sebastian is always exhausted when we get home...it's as though he is on sensory overload. Viola always seems hyped, perhaps because she is a more anxious little cat.

She's worrying me a bit because there have been a couple of episodes of coughing recently...the first since she commenced her medication. She has been sneezing a bit as well, though, so I hope it's just a bit of a cold.

Warning to those who would buy iPad apps for their cats....they now assume the iPad's doings are theirs to play with. I left it unattended and now it has a large scratch across the screen. Only a minor annoyance.

We are having an extended Indian Summer here. Going to get up to up to 86F during the week. This makes for perfect mornings and evenings....but I am longing to get into winter clothes! Also, my north facing windows mean that it can get quite hot in my place when the sun is lower in the sky....loved by woollies, but not so much by me.

Damn global warming.

@dlowan,
Oh...forgot to mention that woollies saved me from a beastly bee yesterday!

After we got home, I noticed they were gazing fixedly at the study light. I thought they were looking at a fly, but noticed it was a bee when I looked more closely. Now, I am deathly allergic to bees and it was a VERY good thing I had my attention drawn to her.

I had to kill the poor thing.

One woolly would have learned the hard way that some things we prey upon don't go down easily.

@dlowan,
Also forgot to mention that it is very pressured around here lately. We are all on diets. The cats are NOT happy. Lots of demand for food and bad behaviour such as jumping on me and harassing me when I am reading or watching TV, knocking stuff off shelves, sundry squawkings and chirps and mournful hoots and flutings.

As for me, I lost five kilos without thinking about....of course, now that I am thinking about it, I can't recall what I did so effortlessly!

Worried about Viola. Sneezing and coughing. Yup. Just a cold.

Glad you got the bee. Better it than you.

A diet? Dem skinny felines is on a diet? Glad you lost five kilos. Not entirely sure I know what a kilo is, but it sounds like a fair amount.

@dlowan,
Ok. This is weird. They eat Brussels sprouts.

And....on the yucky side....I just had Sebastian's tongue in my mouth. I can't believe it. He jumped up on me and started to lick my face with great enthusiasm.....sadly I opened my mouth to greet him....and IT happened.

I don't quite know what to do.

What DO you know when you get a tongue kiss from your cat?

Is there something in an etiquette book somewhere?

Do I send flowers with the break up text?

@sozobe,
The are so cute and he will be finding homes for them soon but I'm just not ready for another one. After losing my two it's going to take me a while before I decide to have another one, tempting though, they are cute! I will be helping him find them a home.

@jcboy,
Stupendously cute. I'm trying to figure out which one I'd pick if I could. I like Kittypaws of course, but I think just on looks I'd choose the black and white one.

@dlowan,
Ditto.

I read on the time zone thread that Viola is coughing again. Please tell her to cut that out.

As for the tongue business, what can I tell ya?
