Coming up to anniversary of kitten arrival. (20th May)

Who'd have thought that I would still have to worry about wee?

Viola weed on my quilt this morning. I think she was digging so hard at me to make me get up and feed them....which I was assiduously ignoring....that she got confused.

Quilt, sheets etc all to washing machine. As was the incontinence under sheet I bought for Miranda's last days and fortunately had kept on the bed.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Kittens were ejected from my room once i had stripped the bed.

I think ejection will occur instantly from now on until they REALLY learn that theres no breakfast for cats who wake mummy. Something every other damn cat I have ever had has learned pretty fast.

These are the STUBBORNEST and ORNIEREST cats I have ever had!

@dlowan,
As for the tongue business Deb, the only thing I can suggest is for you to keep your mouth shut, kid.

Don't know what to tell ya about the peeing. Never had such a problem.

And the waking up. I've had that problem. Your cats need to be more creative in the waking up mom department. Will they learn? I suspect that they've already learned and just don't give a damn.

Well, whoda thunk? There's now a 24-hour cable TV channel just for dogs, DogTV, chasing things, outdoor views, tummy rubs,programs to desensitize them to vacuum cleaners,,,,,,
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/25/should-your-dog-be-watching-tv/?hp

can 24 hour CatTV be far behind?

@Roberta,
You're stubborn and ornery but you never pissed on my bed....yet. Or bit me.

Yet.

@dlowan,
Viola is luxuriantly discovering that most beloved human gift to the resident feline god.....the heater.

@dlowan,
You haven't done anything bite-worthy IMO--that I know of. And as for the peeing, I'm housebroken.

Love dem woollies.

@dlowan,
Yup, they love those heat generating things in the winter. I suspect that you're warmer than the heater. Lots of lap time.

Sighing.

@Roberta,
Lol. Viola has learned from the heater to roll over on her back (which she does to greet me) and STAY on her back....which is new.

So...now I get the terrifying cuteness of her lying on her back on my chest, with her face close to mine, caressing my face with her paws and trilling at me upside down.

You hate me don't you?

Viola DID come up with a new way.

She bit me. More than once.

@dlowan,
my cats used to try that crap.

the neat thing about cats is they always land on their feet.

even when unceremoniously tossed off the bed...

@Rockhead,
She cloaked it in play stealth mode....she attacked my arm which was under the cover. We sometimes play by me moving my fingers around under the covers, which she then attacks.

I don't think I was moving.

Luckily, her teeth didn't make it through. She bites like a crocodile.

Hate you??!! Don't be ridiculous. You're not even on my list of maybe hates. What a bunny.

Picture this. You're lying in bed asleep, or close to asleep. An extremely large and very strong cat wants you to wake up. First he's subtle. I open one eye, and his face is right there. I feel his breath. That's his "are you in there?" approach. I close my eye.

He jumps off the bed. I brace myself. Then I hear his thundering feet thundering as he races to the bed and hurls his entire weight into me. Resounding thunk. Ooof. It never failed.

Sigh. I miss those days.

Your cats may be a pain in the ass, but at least they're small.

Hate her? How can she think such a thing?

You would be amazed how much impact Sebastian can visit upon me when he jumps onto my stomach from a bookcase, you know.

@Roberta,
The stomach landing you can have for bupkis already.

I'll throw in the very fresh and very smelly pooh the reek of which greeted me when I returned home just then. For free.

Viola just looked up "koi" on google, on my iPad.

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I am beginning to get just a shade nervous about this cat.

@MontereyJack,
Hmmmm...they haven't tried doors like that yet.

I realised last night that Viola and I have developed the oddest game. She does her damndest to lick my nose, which I can't stand, and I do my best to block her....by blowing on her, turning my face, putting my finger on my nose etc. She very excitedly tries to avoid the blocks....including by grabbing my face in both paws and trying to hold it still.

It' actually like playing with a dog...indeed, we had that game with our childhood dog.

It goes on for ages....I swear she ends up giggling.
