So what? I don't believe David, and I'm sure I never said it was criminal. But go ahead and prove it isn't criminal.

Certainly not, but after consulting with assorted experts (see terrorism risk assessment for insurance purposes, my post earlier on this thread) I found out they favor that location. One of them told me "beg pardon ma'am but better to have them inside pissing out than outside pissing in" (sorry for the language folks, that's verbatim from a military man not given to suavity of expression). That convinced me on grounds of practicality.

This photo is from La Plaza de las Madres in Argentina, where mothers of those that disappeared during the military junta are still protesting.

My point is that a mosque can be built, and peaceful protesting could continue, as a means of emotional catharsis, for those that choose to believe that there are just too many violent acts around the world by "radicalized Muslims," for it to be such a religion of peace. We know other religions have had periods of religious violence; however, for those that are living in the present, it might be needed to be said, that in some people's opinion, Islam may just have a flexibility for radicals that other faiths might not today?

AGREED; it has not occurred to me that the Moslems
intended anything in violation of any criminal statute,
by offending our dignity.

No problem. I would have answered exactly no matter to whom it had been addressed.

For the sake of argument:
if the Port Authority decided to raise funds by auctioning off
the plot where the WTC used to be and if the Moslems
bawt it, fair n square, and put up mockery of America
and of NY, I 'd have to agree that there is nothing criminal in that.

I have been checking around, and cannot find a reference to a 9/11 groundbreaking by any credible news outlets. If it is so, I would appreciate a link.

The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city's heart.

The only thing I can find is a reference to a 3 year time frame to build the building which seems much more likely.

They would have to fast track it like crazy to build a multistory building in 1 years time, including tearing down the existing building.
