@BillRM,
You do make some good points! I do not think that we will allow any of the violence you speak of to happen here in the US because we are more evolved but yet still very stupid.

It just happens to be that we live with alot of people who do not question all things and just follow their environment or traditions.

I do admire Thomas jefferson' s quotes I find this one to be interesting.

[Shake off all the fears of servile prejudice, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God, because, if there is one, he must more approve of the homage of REASON than that of blindfolded fear."]

I wonder why he did not say Islam.

@BillRM,
Your attempts to compare Muslim nations to the US belongs on the laffer curve. Most Muslim nations are secular. Do you understand what that means? Your myopia and ignorance are legend.

Here's a news story from the WSJ on Pakistan. The terrorist activities affects their own (Muslim) country, but out of the majority of Muslim countries, most are peaceful and secular.

Your bigotry knows no bounds.

Female Suicide Bomber Hits U.N. Food Post

BY REHMAT MEHSUD

PESHAWAR, Pakista—A female suicide bomber attacked a World Food Programme distribution centre in the restive Bajaur tribal region on Saturday, killing at least 42 people and injuring 70 others, a local official said.

The official in Bajaur said that a burqa-clad woman lobbed two hand grenades toward the crowd, which were gathered to receive food rations outside the WFP office.

No personnel of the WFP, a United Nations agency that distributes emergency food aid, were hurt in the attack, said Ishrat Rizvi, a spokeswoman for the U.N. in Islamabad.

"We condemn this barbaric act in strongest possible words.

Some of the most powerful countries of that group are not secular however very far from being secular and if Iran for example begin a religion nuclear war with Israel it does not matter one little bit that such countries as Turkey happen to be secular.

@BillRM,
Iran against who? Your myopia shows up again! Nuclear weapons may be the destruction of their own country - like Iran.

Are you afraid of them too?

I worked with nuclear weapons in the US Air Force. I don't have any fear of any country like Iran attacking us - or anybody else.

@cicerone imposter,
Strange is it not that by the Wikileaks cables the leaders of other Muslim countries in the region does not happen to agree with your no concern position concerning those religions nuts getting a hold of atom weapons.

Wishing the US if need be to end the Iran nuclear program by military force.

@BillRM,
That's the reason why Iran continues its nuclear program; to scare the be-jesus out of their neighbors.

However, we're talking about the US vs Iran. You misplace your fears into a region that you don't even belong or understand.

Many news stories coming out of that part of the world proves that terrorist activities are highest in those regions where the US have involved ourselves - such as Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Name us other Muslim countries with the same problems?

@cicerone imposter,
You know in readings your posts and your claims that you had handle nuclear weapons one wonder what the hell is wrong with the background checks being done on people so trusted.

Bill,
You do realize that in at least 2 of the Muslim countries, the countries that you say so mistreat women, women have accomplished something that no woman in the US has ever done.

They have been elected to head of state.
Tell me, what woman has done that in the US?

@BillRM,
Your presumed knowledge about how I got my Top Secret clearance is based on your total ignorance. I'll bet you that my credit rating is much better than your's in addition to our net worth. I worked in management during most of my working career. You probably worked as a peon to somebody much smarter than you!

@cicerone imposter,
Given a real time contact with a few questions I could likely tell if you are bullshitting about having been around nuclear weapons or not within a few minutes.

Hopefully the US was never dumb enough to grant someone with your outlook on life that trust level.

Of course there had been a numbers of failures such as in the Wikileaks case being the last example.

@BillRM,
That's because you have never learned to trust people who disagrees with you on most levels debate. You are too dumb and brainwashed to learn from other people who present you with facts about this world - and your bigotry against Muslims.

You're a lost cause; your education from FOX News has left you brain dead without the ability at rational thinking.

@cicerone imposter,
I know how you got your clearance.
I had to get one when I was stationed aboard the USS Hammerhead (SSN-663).
It may not have been the same clearance, becausde I wasnt in management, but I also had a top secret clearance.

For Bill to question how you got it and the background checks neccessary shows a huge ignorance to how its done and the hoops you need to jump thru.

@mysteryman,
mm, Just to prove once more that BillRM doesn't know what he talks about, I will look for the document that shows I had a Top Secret clearance. I remember after finishing basic training I was left on the base for several weeks waiting for my order to my next base. When I returned home for a short visit before reporting to my first base, my friends told me that the FBI questioned them about me. When I reported to my first base, I understood why; they assigned me to work with nukes.

I also kept in touch with a fellow airman since the late fifties when we were stationed in Morocco. We kept in touch all these years, and we met again in Austin last year when I visited my son, because he lives in Terrell, TX, and he drove to Austin to meet me.

If anything, he will vouch for my work with nukes.

Given that he had express public opinions on how evil the US happen to be, that background check seem worthless indeed unless he did keep such opinions completely to himself at the time of the background checks.

There is a long history of such people using their poor opinions of the US government as a reason/excuse to betray their country secrets with the Wikileaks lowly private just being the last known example.

Another that comes to mind is the young “gentleman” Christopher Boyce who sold top secrets by the wheelbarrow full to the Soviets during the cold war using the excuse that he did not care for our interfered with the internal affairs of Australia at the time that he learn about by his access to secret cables.

In any case if our friend is not bullshitting us and he did received a high-level security clearance something had gone badly wrong during the background check in my opinion.

Side note I never had such a background check done on myself however my father during WW2 had a full blown background check ran on him and my mother as he was assign to the B-29 program and the Norden bombsight.

If the FBI agents miss talking to anyone from their small town my parents was not aware of it.

@BillRM,
BillRM, We lived in a different period in the late fifties; we just finished the Great War, and our country was in conflict with Russia - also a nuke country.

My opinion about our country changed much after that period; you wouldn't be able to figure out why.

This is from Wiki:
Quote:
509th Bombardment Wing
Emblem of the 509th Bombardment Wing
1946/47 sign at Roswell Army Airfield. Note the Mushroom Cloud symbol for the 509th Bomb Group
Martin-Omaha B-29-40-MO Superfortress AAF Serial No. 44-27353 The Great Artiste assigned to Crew C-15, 393rd Bombardment Squadron of the 509th Bomb Group. This aircraft was converted to Silverplate Victor number 89. This aircraft flew on both Atomic Bomb missions (6 August, 9 August 1945) as an instrument aircraft monitoring the nuclear explosions.

The 509th Composite Group returned from its wartime base on Tinian and relocated to Roswell on 6 November 1945, initially being assigned to Second Air Force under Continental Air Forces. With demobilization in full swing in late 1945, much juggling of units was being performed by the Army Air Forces. It was reassigned to the 58th Bombardment Wing at Fort Worth Army Airfield on 17 January 1946. The 509th was assigned to Strategic Air Command on 21 March 1946, being one of the first eleven organizations assigned to SAC. At the time SAC was formed, the 509th Composite Group was the only unit to have experience with nuclear weapons and thus is regarded by many historians as the foundation on which SAC was built.

Yeah, I was a proud member of the Strategic Air Command from 1955 to 1959; we did our jobs, and kept our country safe.

This is also proof that I was in the 37th ADS at Walker AFB.
