The Word is self-explanatory. It is clearly written in simple language. Your writing seems to indicate you have command of the requisite level of reading comprehension. If with this command of the language, you can't understand the passage, I can't help you. I don't understand how you can't make the connection. Please explain what is puzzling you.

Your quote talks about the birth of Jesus, we are not talking about the birth of Jesus, ergo your quote is irrelevant.

Usually, if you don't have peers who joke and give you a hard time it means you don't have people who like you or are comfortable enough with you or their relationship with you to have a playful give and take. Hopefully, when you leave the school environment and enter the real world you'll find a group of compatriots who are comfortable enough with themselves and you and their relationships to be able to provide this kind of camaraderie. You and they need to be comfortable enough in your own skins to make this happen.
