Is the battle real?

Whenever I return to Colorado to see my extended family, I am assaulted by the above belief-system. My sister-in-law believes strictly in science and genetic superiority. She hates religion, and pretty much dominates my brother's thinking. One of her claims to fame is that her father worked for NASA as an engineer his entire life. I asked if he was in charge of the tile program. If so, he was definitely a screw-up.

I heard about what seems to be a worthwhile endevour yesterday. Back to the Bible's current project is called City Impact India. This project, described below, broadcasts scripture based programs to a city of 7 million people.

You can't be both a Christian and a Jew. You're either one or the other. Sometimes I think you've gotten them confused.

Oh, how nice...you do have access to a dictionary...but I fail to see the point you were trying to make.

As long as I'm breathing, I'll fight against any dissolution of the separation of church and state...I won't subscribe to a fascist government. I'll be damned if I subscribe to a fascist religious entity. The Bible was never meant to be used as a weapon or to subjugate....it is invitational...perhaps you've forgotten the teachings of Christ...name one instance where he demanded his followers to follow him....yet, you would force your brand of religion on all peoples...I can't think of anything more un-American. And downright scary.

Excuse me, but I didn't make a statement about "ultimate destination"....that would be akin to judging...and I'm am in no position to judge where you gon' wind up, or where George Bush will wind up. I try not to judge....don't always succeed...but I try.
And yes, indeed, we "all fall short"....that being said, how can I tell you what is right for you, when I have a hard time figuring what is right for me....hey, but people make that mistake, everyday. Don't make it right.

I don't care that separation of church and state isn't spelled out in the Bill of Rights and/or the Constitution, and I have doubts about that, because I think, somewhere, it is....but given that, it still 'sounds" right to me....church is church and state is state...and the two shouldn't mix...does that mean that we don't enact laws which respect and guarantee people's individual beliefs? Of course not...we do, and should. Should God and his laws be taken into account...I think so, but you have the right not to, if you feel that is not right for you. Freedom. Liberty, and the pursuit of personal happiness...which may or may not include a God of your understanding...
This is not an Episcopal nation...not a Catholic nation, not a Baptist nation, not a Jewish nation, not a Buddhist nation, not a Ba'hai nation, not an Islamic nation, not a nation of atheists...but all have a stake here...and one should not be oppressed by another...a Bible Party would unfairly and unjustly impose its' views and positions on the others, who have just as much right to their views....its' no different from Zionism or radical Islam.

36 "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" 37 He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Really, what does it mean to you, to love your neighbor as yourself? Please explain that to me...because I wouldn't want someone to dictate to me, policy, religion, do's and don'ts...so likewise, I try to refrain from doing that to others...
How is it you imposing your view of the Bible and Scripture, and how it relates to you, personally, like loving your neighbor as yourself? And don't even tell me what God or the Bible says....what do you say? God gave you a brain, use it.

Right....and you are one, not both. You're just one.
