I was out for a jog at lunchtime on Thursday. My foot caught an uneven
part of the pavement and down I went. I banged up my right knee and
forearm and my left wrist. It was painful for a while, but everything
seemed to be feeling better by that evening -- except my wrist.
By that night, I was getting worried and decided to go to the Emergency
Room at Winchester Hospital.
I got to hospital at ten. I didn't leave until half past three in the morning.
Only about twenty minutes of that time was spent getting an x-ray,
talking with the doctor and getting cast to immobilize my wrist and thumb.
The rest of the time I was waiting. And waiting. And waiting.
Ten at night in Winchester MA. I thought the place would be empty!
Not long. I'm not sure "cast" is the right word. Probably "splint" would be
better. It only wraps three-quarters of the way around my forearm. My
wrist has been feeling better every day, so I'll probably ditch the splint
sometime this week.

am planning a 10k from work tomorrow.
conditions should be ideal -- sunny, upper 50's, light wind...
wasn't planning on it.
there never seem to be any in town.
if there were, i'd consider it...

I've jogged on four consecutive days this week, for the first time in a while
and my knee doesn't hurt. My pace is getting better, but it's still slow.
Progress.

I should see about getting back to lifting. I had stopped - my right wrist was hurting something fierce. It seems to be better but I don't want to reinjure it. The right knee, though (why is everything happening to one side of me?), is still complaining about, well, lots of things. Jogging, I'm sure, would result in some rather loud complaints.
