joe is approaching mile 20, thomas mile 18...
@Region Philbis,
Uh-oh. Now comes "the wall."
Stay strong, guys!
@Region Philbis,
Thanks for the update..
JoeN and Thomas - some of us have been talking about the sunday runs of a2kers over on the fantasy football thread too - starting here:
http://able2know.org/topic/173545-57#post-4784800
Thomas probably just hitting the wall at 20.6 miles..
JoeN cooking at 22.6.. slower, natch, to do a mile. edit - he picked up speed getting to mile 23.
This finishing stuff is probably raising my bp..
I know, I know, get out and run.
@ossobuco,
Thomas regains Manhattan - JoeN at 24 miles..
Thomas at 23 miles, JoeN at 25..
@ossobuco,
Schniff, less than a mile for JoeN, something like 2.5 for Thomas.
@ossobuco,
JoeN finished, Thomas not far behind, a little over a mile and a half.
Yaaaaaaaaaaay.
@JPB,
He's got a mile left.. his pace very steady..
@ossobuco,
Approaching the final turn. I can only imagine how that must feel.
@JPB,
And Thomas finished -- Bravo!
@JPB,
Yea - this all gives me chills, so great.
WooHoo Thomas!
Bravo to both of you!!!!!
Yippee! the boys are done.
I just checked on Mr B's cousin.. 3:56:32 9:02 min/mile pace
Well done, Brent!
Great jobs, all!
Da race director (we go to all 6 races he puts on, so he knows us) called out my name when I finished.
I was the last finisher - jes comes in! Now we can all eat!
We had a blast! Rhys is a delight. He won a jogging canteen today.
Yea! I hope you all had as good a time watching as I did running it. (And that's not saying much. I was very slow this year. I intend to blame my shoes. That's coming. )
Technology failed in several ways this year, my phone was near death at the start, my Garmin watch died at about 19 miles. Meh.
So I was very glad that I could see some of the race (such as it was) on the website.
~~~
Thomas failed to connect with his sister after the finish causing some angst, but we intend to have lunch or brunch tomorrow (Thomas, A- his sister, me and my red-headed hottie.) We will compare notes and share.
Thankyou all for your interest and attention and wonderful, sweet encouragements . They mean the world to me and, I'm sure, Thomas.
(What a tough son-of-a-bitch to run and finish this trek!)
Joe(I'm humbled by his effort.)Nation
@Joe Nation,
kudos joe nation.
my feet hurt just thinking about it...
