@spendius,
No - I'm just mumbling about missing the beginning of the race and the beginning of the early football games had I not been just now made aware of the time change. Further mumbling because I've close to no dark adaptation with my eyes so I get grumpier earlier in the day when the time change happens. Y'all know me when I'm grumpy.. a lot of piss and vinegar. (Is that just an american phrasing?)

Erm, I'd really like to follow JoeN and Thomas like some of us did another year, but I'm not interested in forking out spare dollars to do that.

I believe that's just the smart-phone app. Following us through a web browser is still gratis.

I'm wondering if whatever that website was that we used still works. Alas, I forget what it was.

@ehBeth,
I see that JoeNation has passed the 5k mark..
I just miswrote and am correcting it - JoeN is the one further along, about six minutes ahead of Thomas for the 5k. Not that I think of them racing each other - not the point.

@ehBeth,
Joe just passed the 6 mile mark..
Have you ever watched a marathon (or run in one?). The only one I've watched in person was when the Olympics were in LA - though I've watched others on tv. I was very impressed watching in person, Joan Samuelson scooting on by apace. Man, that woman has good lungs.

@ossobuco,
I used to go out to cheer on an old pal when he was in town for the Toronto Marathon. Awesome energy in the crowd flowing toward the runners.

@ehBeth,
True.
(Thomas now in Park Slope, JoeN a mile or so ahead about to pass by downtown Brooklyn). This map thing is so cool.

My man Rhys completed the Luv2Run 5K in 38:00.

Quote:
Geoffrey Mutai shattered the course record in the New York City Marathon on Sunday,
no surprise after he ran the fastest marathon ever earlier this year.

Firehiwot Dado wasn't a favorite coming into the women's race and victory seemed impossible
with even a few miles left. But the Ethiopian made a stunning comeback for her first major marathon title.

Mutai finished in 2 hours, 5 minutes, 6 seconds, crushing the previous mark of 2:07:43 set by
Tesfaye Jifar of Ethiopia a decade earlier.
