The pathetic little bastard who quivers in his boots over Jewish superiority just can't spell.

Maybe his mommy will give him a blow job and make it better. You know, after she does Ariel Sharon.

I was attempting to make sure you knew only the first sentence of this post pertained to you.

My son has a theory. He thinks the site was hacked--and fixed as Setanta said--but I already had the image of that screen in my system--so that's what I got each time I returned. (My son's explanation is a lot more involved, but I'm a 'puter dinosaur.)

I can't explain it--but when he lead me through this clean up of my system--and I went back, Wiki was OK.

I did go off on a conspiracy theory--not being able to figure out why I saw it, and no one else did.

Walter-- I apologize for nasty remarks. They weren't aimed at you--as I tried to communicate--I was confident you wouldn't do such a thing, but I used comments to you to telegraph a message to an imaginary prick who I thought may be here and responsible.

Too much drama for me, I'm afraid. It really made me sad.

We all go over the edge sometimes. Not a one of us has that psychosis which would cut us off from feeling sadness at others' suffering.

Your son is correct, and you can correct (or maybe he can correct for you) that part of your Windows internet settings which bring up the same page again and again. That did not occur to me, as i have my box set so that pages are not retained. If something like that happens again, hit the refresh icon at the top of the page (usually it has two green, curved arrows on a white page). Also, ask your son about settings in Windows which can assure that you get a new page each time you click on a link.

I understand and appreciate the force of your sorrow. People are sick, and most of us have sufficient experience of the world not to need reminding in such a graphic fashion.

Wanted to leave this in our time capsule:

N.Y. Independence Party Ousts Fulani

Published: 9/18/05

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A woman accused of making anti-Semitic remarks was removed Sunday from the executive committee of New York's small but politically influential Independence Party.

Lenora Fulani's comments had drawn criticism not only from fellow Independence Party members, but also from powerful Democrats such as Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and from Republicans including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Fulani has been accused of saying Jews "function as mass murderers of people of color" and "had to sell their souls" to acquire Israel.

Fulani and five of her supporters were purged from the Ross Perot-inspired party's 25-member executive committee after more than three hours of often heated debate.

"There are anti-Semites in this country, and a ton of them," Fulani said before the vote. "Lenora Fulani isn't one of them."

Fulani, who said she had many Jewish friends and colleagues, claimed Democrats were behind the move against her because of concern she was leading fellow blacks away from the Democratic Party. She remains a leader of the Manhattan wing of the Independence Party.

Cover story in the latest (online) issue of Religion & Ethics (November 25, 2005 Episode no. 913): Jews in Gemany

Quote:
It is remarkable. In the country which systematically tried to exterminate all Jews, not only is Jewish music flourishing; so is the practice of Judaism.

In the last 15 years, the number of Jews in Germany has gone from 28,000 to well over 200,000. It's all part of the country's policy to rebuild Jewish communities destroyed by the Nazis. Attracted by generous social services, many came from Eastern Europe, especially the former Soviet Union ...

Interesting!

Another excerpt--

INGE DEUTSCHKRON: There are places in Berlin where I don't go to, where things happened which touched me very much at the time.

FAW (to Ms. Deutschkron): It's too painful?

MS. DEUTSCHKRON: Too painful, yes.

FAW: But most Jews here are looking forward, not back. Not only is this school growing, but Orthodox Jews from America who operate it are now building a large community center with a library and synagogue for children.

RABBI TEICHTEL: I will never encourage a Jew to move to Berlin from a different place, but if a quarter of a million decided to, we will do everything we can to help them have a Jewish identity. That is our answer, and that is our proof that -- am Israel chai -- that the Jewish spark lives

Yes both Jews and Arabs are of Semitic stock. The both originated in the same area of the world and are in essence cousins with different religious beliefs. However, when the term anti-Semitic is used it is normally being used in reference to Jews.

As for religious law relative to who is a Jew, You are correct to be considered a Jew one must have been born to a Jewish mother. I would suppose that is because the child is brought up by the mother and I also am of the opinion that based on the premise that we know who the mother is. Remember rape was a fact of life when religious laws were promulgated. When a city or people were conquered rape was the norm.

Unfortunately it hasn't changed in moderm times. It is still being practiced! I think it's referred to as "poisoning the national pot" or something like that.

I'm almost finished reading "In the Land of Israel", a book by Amos Oz I bought on holiday.
It is absolutely fascinating, a torrent of a book.
Although written in the 1980s and no doubt a few chapters could be added now, it has a wealth of information and amazing insights into personal histories and the thoughts of the peoples who inhabit that land.

Thanks for the suggestion, McT. My son (if he took my monumental hint) has a history by Josephus as a Christmas present.

This "In the Land of Israel" sounds really great.

His latest novel, "Love and Darkness" is quite successful here as well (Interview ).

I read a couple of days 'Artur Aronymus and his fathers', by Esle Lasker-Schüler, again. I like to read this novel, because it's about my native town and a house, I've been in quite freqently, since a friend lived there.

(Links about Lasker-Schüler: (here, here, here and here.
