Today's workout: shovel snow.
Again.
My PT Cruiser was doing a pretty good imitation of an igloo.

Clive came out to join the fun.

@George,
That's a lotta snow!

I did the funner snow workout -- the Sledding Hill Workout.

Up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, ad infinitum.

Plus walked there (not terribly far) pulling the kid on her sled, and walked back pulling her on the sled. (She actually fell asleep on the way back. Snowpants make all the difference. My butt was ice.)

Plus ran up the hill a few times just for an extra workout.

@George,
I confess to feeling a little proud of myself on that one. I remember huffing and puffing last year when I just walked up.

@George,
hehehe

your PT cruiserdome wouldn't look out of place in our neighbourhood today

I need to get out and do my share of the shovelling and cleaning, but, mmmm my fingernails are drying and my hair's just barely dry and I have to call the hamburgers really soon

I'll go out. Later.

More snow overnight.

By the time I looked out this morning the sweep of easy wind and downy flake
had ended. Leaving a boatload of downy flakes. I got more and sooner exercise
than I'd planned.

So far so good...

I've been in the gym lifting weights every MWF since the new year. I've gained approx 15% on all my lifts (except for military press, where I've only gained 5%. I must be doing something wrong there.)

I've ran 97.67 miles (YTD goal of 52.05 to reach 1,000). At the same time I've been increasing my speed trying to get my marathon time down to around 4 hours.

I've haven't watched the food all that well, but I have eliminated all candy and bakery goods. Haven't done too good of a job adding in vegetables either.

My weight has stayed the same, but I've lost 1.5 inches of belly fat. My body fat % is down from 19% to 15% year to date.

I haven't done too good of a job with the Resistance Stretching program that I started, having only done that 2 times so far this year.

So, some plus' and minus' but overall I feel pretty good about my efforts.

Wow. All of that snow makes for quite the workout indeed.
Well, I ate all of the pralines. I was a goner the moment they hit the front door. But I've added reps to my total body workout and I'll add another lap to the mallwalk starting tomorrow and hopefully, the numbers on my new scale will continue to move downward.

The parking lots were sandy and slushy and the connecting paths were still
covered in snow. But at least I was able to run yesterday. Steeplechase!

I ran through the lots to a side road that led away from Rte 129. I loped along
past industrial buildings staying as close to the edge of the road as I could.
Every so often a truck with a raised plow came toward me and I hoped the
driver had a good sense of where the ends of his plow were. I always keep an
eye on the snowbanks for a good spot to jump into.

I did an easy-going three and three quarters miles. It felt good to be outside.

@George,
Oy, that's a lot of snow, George. I am cold just looking at it!

I am still doing the usual: shlepping myself up to the 6th floor office,
either walking 45 min outside up and down our hillside, or 35 min on the
treadmill- today I run 6 minutes and walked 4 in interval - I am a happy camper
so far! Smile

@CalamityJane,
I used to work on the sixth floor of a fourteen (I think) storey office building.
The whole building was occupied by one company and people changed
departments pretty easily. It was common to see someone you'd worked with
before and ask about their current project.

We also had an active running community and you'd see guys taking the stairs
rather than the elevator and taking them at an aggressive pace. I was one of
those who ran up the stairs.

So one day I'm going upstairs at a quick pace as Bill was coming down.

"George, what're you working on?"

"My quads, mostly."

Bill burst out laughing and it took me a while to figure out why.

@CalamityJane,
Gymmed today. It was one of those draggy days -- didn't want to go, did OK but not great once there. Recumbent bicycle (25 mins) and weights (20 mins).

@George,
Dance class today. Shovelled before and a bit more after. I think the only thing that didn't get a workout today was my toenails.
