@dlowan,

@dlowan,

there's apparently a way to follow them via cel phone app, if you know their bib numbers...

@jespah,
oooh... I've got butterflies in my tummy - trying to imagine what the atmosphere is going to be like in NYC and the nerves they will be feeling

'tis verra exciting!

this is going to be Caralyn's last marathon and she reckoned that NYC had to be the marathon of marathons - her knee is kaput - just so very proud of her - she's raised a huge sum of money for charity and this is very personal for her too - bless her!

@dlowan,
I believe it's just about to? 8:47 AM EST right now. I think it starts at 9 AM EST but I'm not sure.

This seems to indicate 9:00 AM:

@sozobe,
I think it takes a while to start after the elite group heads out..

thanks for the thread and the bib numbers, folks.

I swear, when I read Joe Nation's account of his first NYC marathon here on a2k, I was sobbing somewhat, at the end. The nice kind of sobbing, happy slob type.
The account starts here: http://able2know.org/topic/91630-42
but the whole thread is a wonderful record.

Go, a2kers and associates, and be well.

I think I'm tracking all three, not sure I understand it. I see the chart (all distances for all three blank so far) and see the map, yep, there's a map with mileposts, none of the markers on there yet..
