@George,
Okay, I have to listen to George.

I know nike air maxes work with my fool feet. I walked Rome with Nike Air, back when no one else in the entire well dressed city wore sneakers (I should have had hoods for them), but for me and eight to ten miles a day for days, they worked - and worked later for jogging - but I look at all these other possibilities. Saucony, for example.

eoe, that's what I started out with - 3 x a week exercising, then 2 x, then 1 x....

to keep it up on a daily basis until it sticks with me *fingers crossed*

You misunderstood. I am working out daily. Well, 5 days out of 7. 3 x's a week I do a 45 minute total body workout. In addition, on alternate days, (starting today) I'm walking, working up to at least 2.5 miles a day. Today I did 1.5 miles. I'm not tapering off. I'm adding on.

Clive and I were using the Smith machine, happy to find one open. There are
three of them at our gym and they the machine of choice for the more serious
lifters. I consulted our chart and loaded up 145 lbs for the bench press.

I make a chart for us every month. It has a row for each routine and columns
for each of us for our sessions. I settled onto the bench and did 10 reps, nice
and smooth. The we dropped the amount of weight down for Clive and he did
his first set. I did 10 reps on my second set as well. On the third set, I bumped
the weight up to 165 and ground out 5. I filled in 145/155 for the next session.
That means I'll do my first set at 145, but go up to 150 if it feels OK. Clive said
he was content with the weight he was doing, so I filled that in for him.

The rest of the routines went pretty well, but I was not as enthusiastic. Pretty
much blew it all on the bench.

Gymmed!

20 minutes recumbent bicycle, 20 minutes weights.

Christmas break was a nightmare for getting to the gym (managed it three times, as opposed to the usual eight for that stretch), plus all that damn food. Glad to be back, looking forward to getting back to where I was before break and then moving on from there...

Walked up to the 6th floor again, and I probably will go another round
on the treadmill - 30 minutes. No weight's today, I am so sore *ouch*

@CalamityJane,
I gymmed! I actually tried it out, then plunked down some cabbage. 30 mins total, about evenly split between weights and cardio machines. I'll return on Friday if the creek don't rise.

@CalamityJane,
Dance class tonight. We're starting Alexandrian this time round. It is VERY energetic. Abby decided to warm us by dancing. So a 15 minute dance warm-up, then an hour of dancing/technique, then a 15 minute cool down. I can't say I missed doing a shimmy drill tonight. My arms are going to hurt tomorrow.

The weather in Chelmsford yesterday was as cold, harsh, and unforgiving as a
Cotton Mather sermon. I stayed indoors to make atonement for my sins of
the flesh. Fifteen minutes on the stationary bike and almost fifteen on the rower.
I say almost because I got a cramp in my upper abs at around twelve or thirteen
minutes. I hate it when that happens.

Ouch, George. I don't think I've ever had an ab cramp, but it sounds bad.

My wounds and bruises from my 12/25 splat-in-the-street incident are almost completely healed. I did the works yesterday: 35 min elliptical, 30 min recumbent bike, 30 min weight routine (combo of machines and free weights).

@mac11,
Glad to hear you're just about all healed.

The whole process of healing never ceases to amaze me.
You rip yourself up a bit and the old bod' says "OK, get out the plans.
We've got to rebuild again." And it does. Exactly to spec. Wild.

George, luckily our body heals faster than our emotional wounds, right? Laughing

wow mac11, I am impressed: you certainly have endurance! I am usually done
after 30 min. elliptical, and here you're going strong another 60 minutes.

I also did 30 interval on the treadmill early this morning, and this afternoon
we'll go for a long walk on the beach. Today is just a gorgeous day! 65+ and
sunny!
