@eoe,
But EOE...what does not having a love interest on a TV show have to do with anything? A lot of gay actors do have love interests (mostly non-gay) on TV or in the movies. Occasionally there are exceptions. For instance, after the first two seasons of the sitcom "Ellen," Ellen never had a boyfriend again. In that circumstance, Ellen had a choice, because it was her show, and she didn't feel comfortable dating men as the character, because she thought of the character as gay all along. I don't remember "Barney Miller" too well, but I remember Ron Glass's appearance on "All in the Family." That was a classic.

P.S. It wasn't my intention to suggest that Ron's orientation mattered vis-a-vis your attraction. I was just sayin'.

@Foxfyre,
"Whacking Spendi on the nose with a rolled up newspaper."

LOL! Good idea. And then call Corky and have her come and pick him up.

Maybe that's true but you would still have been the recipient of an uppercut to the jaw in my pub. Just in case.

@Foxfyre,
"Rock Hudson was one I really liked to look at. No real attraction there, certainly no crush, but I sure liked to look. Still do. We have two or three of his movies in our private collection."

I almost mentioned Rock in my lecture to Spendi. He was a hunk alright.

"It didn't bother me when I found out he was gay. I still liked to look. As a girl it sure would have been a blow to know that Dean was gay though."

Because, of course, you had a chance with him. Tee hee.

@spendius,
"I possibly can't tell who is gay by looking at them but I have a pretty good idea when I look at them whether they are gay."

Huh??

"Sir Edmund Hilary wasn't gay. And neither was Len Hutton."

And don't forget Ty Cobb and Alan Rickman.

"All the pics on here of chaps look gay to me or at the very least if they came into my pub me and Vic would lean on the bar backwards. "

There it is...the pub. I knew it was Happy Hour! Drunk Laughing

@FlyFoy,
I must admit that I have seen Daniella Rush with another lady but they were only warming up because Ron Jeremy had been held up in the traffic.

What possible difference does it make whether someone is gay or not? We're talking about crushes, not long-term relationships.

As for being able to tell just by looking, I don't think that's possible. Some, yes. All, no. And why does it matter?

Does anyone have a crush on Ron Jeremy? If not, why not discuss him somewhere else?

@Lash,
Adds, years later, have you seen Burton with Cavett?
It's probably linked in Cavett's NYTimes opinion section (I think is the place, or maybe it as one of their blogs), plus Cavett of course talks about it. I also like Cavett a great deal, but not a crush.

First time I caught a look at Ann Margaret, I was captivated. It was in some Glenn Ford romantic story and she had but a small part. I lost some of my fervor, not long after, when she appeared in a crappy movie called Bus Riley is Back in Town.

Tuesday Weld, in Dobie Gillis, had my admiration, too.
