It's not about 'respect,' it's about what you said - that they are accepted and supported by the 'racial spectrum.' And I just don't see a lot of evidence of that, and this is in large part because right-wing writers love to go after outspoken black women.

White women read these wonderful authors in droves....Oprah Winfrey is largely where she is because of her incredible appeal across racial so-called boundaries... The lines are blurring. Why resist it? (Because that fake anger is one of the few things Democrats have left?)

I guess I would point out that Oprah has been heavily attacked by your side, just in this last year, as she has supported Obama.
