Speaking of Jaqui, how come nobody ever investigated the possibility she arranged the hit on her cheatin' husband? Or did they?

ceej, your avatar fits your expository style, to a Tee.

Now I can put a face to the babblings.

I assume that you do speak from out of your mouth and not another orifice .

Once again, refusal to address the post, and instead, attack the poster.

You're better than that, I think.

Funny! The most vicious attack poster on A2K complains about a mild reprimand by a respected poster.

My guess is, its because she's an intelligent, outspoken, sucessfull, assertive and independent-thinking black woman, and some folks just can't handle that.

As I said -- Jackie Kennedy with a tan.

So wrong on so many different levels, but I read refresh and see you recanted a bit. Jacqueline Kennedy played the press (and everyone else) with velvet glove mastery. She would never have been an "issue" for her husband to overcome. That's not really a stab at M Obama. Some contemporary women think Ms Kennedy was a doormat....but Jacquie Ms Obama ain't.

I don't think M Obama's detractors can't bear an intelligent, outspoken woman. I think snood is wildly oversimplifying once again to support his obvious general belief that all whites really hate all blacks. This country has several very popular, outspoken, intelligent black women who are largely accepted and supported by the racial spectrum.

Try to accept this: Michelle Obama is prickly. Her first nature is not friendly or magnanimous or sweet. That's ok. Not everybody's is. I just think people should admit it and move on. Laughing

Whoopie Goldberg is detested by many on the right wing (read: white people), Condi detested by those on the left (mostly also white).

I don't buy your argument for a second. Outspoken AA women are few and far between and subject to attack from many quarters; truly they are a rare creature here in America.

This sorta reads like there's not one black woman you respect...That must be wrong.

It's not about 'respect,' it's about what you said - that they are accepted and supported by the 'racial spectrum.' And I just don't see a lot of evidence of that, and this is in large part because right-wing writers love to go after outspoken black women.

Cyclo--
You know those women have been accepted by our society, or they wouldn't have made it to where they are in it. White women read these wonderful authors in droves....Oprah Winfrey is largely where she is because of her incredible appeal across racial so-called boundaries... The lines are blurring. Why resist it? (Because that fake anger is one of the few things Democrats have left?) Very Happy

I guess I would point out that Oprah has been heavily attacked by your side, just in this last year, as she has supported Obama.

But, nobody took her money or her power from her.
I think you should stop looking at the world through "sides," sweety. All of those women are powerful and outspoken and at the top of American society.

I guess what we're seeing is that M Obama is among them. I can't think of many contemporary white women in the public arena who haven't been criticised, either. She'll be viewed based on what comes out of her mouth--like everyone else.

I'm just sentimental enuf to hope that you'dve known me better than this by now. I certainly do not believe all whites really hate all blacks. Saying it is "obvious" is just inflammatory.
