David, this may not be the time or place, but I was wondering if you wanted to join me in clubbing some baby seals?

They are all over the beach -- exposed and ripe for the picking.

No, GW, you speak of cjhsa.

He will kill anything... from any distance.

So if cjhsa and DAVID had an old fashioned, high-noon style shoot out - who do you think would be left standing when the smoke and dust cleared?

That 's not nice to say Gus.

I am not that kind of a person.

I do not feel threatened by seals of any age.

I still suspect u
of being USSC Jusice John Paul Stevens, in disguise.

At least, u have not denied it.

David,

I don't think you understand the English language so explaining it to you won't work.

Why don't you stop by my house waving a box cutter and I will show you?

The last time that I went hunting
(the ONLY time that I went hunting)
at the behest of some kids in my neighborhood,
I was about 9 years old.
We went snake hunting on the Arizona desert,
with .30-30 rifles and some revolvers.

We found no snakes; no seals, either.

and let him report back.

"popping off" one round can hit more than the intended target.

That HAS happened.

When an emergency arises
(like having your grandmother being threatened with a box cutter at her throat)
u need to think fast and act fast to address that situation.

I take it that YOUR (Canadian) suggestion is to surrender as fast as possible,
with as much begging and abject grovelling as possible,
so as to evoke the pity of the violent criminal.

I wonder whether u also wish to apply that defense of begging n grovelling
to predatory animals. I 'm pretty sure that u have animals in Canadia.

Unfortunately, it seems that only cowards feel the need to use a gun as a weapon in any situation. There are other ways to defend oneself and loved ones without the use of a gun. Too bad that the gun nuts don't have the gumption to use other means.

You seem to have little knowledge of Canada based on your remark about about Canadian suggestion. Rolling Eyes

That is a logically scrambled up thing to say:
if a man lacks enuf bravery,
then he will use "a weapon in any situation".
If he gets a flat tire, he 'll use a weapon,
if he 's not brave enuf ? I don 't believe so.

What are those other ways ?

If you believe this, then what is the necessity of the gun?

I suppose its rather easy from this perspective to look at all this,
shake one's head and say only in America!

Alternatively if Americans want toddlers tooled up so they can defend themselves
against "stompers" (we would say "stampers"), well why not let them?
I dont live there.

I agree with u; so does the USSC.
Less than a century ago,
u had that much freedom in England.

The baby was safe from stampers,
who presumably wud have glued stamps all over him; (and then taxed him).

That was clever; I liked that.

Can we rely upon u to keep your stamps off English babies ?

and leave the Scotch ones alone too ?
