I haven't yet, but was reconsidering seen as my 18th is just round the corner...

Thanks for your replies. I'm still not sure about it, might get something else done, like a big, bright tattoo with my boyfriend's name and 'I LOVE...' in it... Razz

Perhaps not.

Wouldn't mind a nice rose or something little to peep over my pants.. Smile

I can't even imagine.

Honey, don't do anything unless you want it when your 80. Do you want your grandkids to see your tattoo? Remember, you won't always be young and stretchy. That rose that started on your hip could likely end up a few more inches south and/or east or west.

The piercing is less of a concern to me because it's removable. HOWEVER, I had my belly button pierced and took it out when I got pregnant. It just seemed right of me to remove it when I became a mom. I have a scar. It looks like **** and I wish I hadn't done it at all. I know that you really won't ever see a scar down there but think about it. Scar tissue is not nearly as sensitive as regular tissue. So even if you don't have problems with it right away, if you decide you don't like it and remove it, you might have sensitivity issues after it's healed. Also, I have two tattoos. One I got when I was 19 and at 30 I hate it. The other I got when I was in my 20's and I love it. The difference is that the one I got at 19 was an impulse. I did it because I could. The other I got for me. Because it meant something to me. The similarity between these two? They're both going to be there when I die.

Make an informed decision. I am glad you didn't run out and get one right away after thinking you wanted one. That shows me that you aren't doing this because everyone else did it. Or because it seems like the cool thing to do right now.

You have to live with this body for the rest of your life. Be careful what you do to it.

honey,

How about an "I LOVE PANCAKES" tattoo.

Classy and timeless. :wink:

Only teasing...wait. You'll know when and if you are ready for something.

Any other health risks associate specifically with this type of piercing?

A major complication could be a very serious infection.

@squinney,
I agree and what could be worse than an infection referred to as a "weeping infection"?

In this case, the term "weeping" means a "running infection".~~~~~>

@honey rose cr,
I just got mine done last week, vertical. Honestly it hurt for about three seconds, no ddiscomfort since very easy to keep clean! I have the curved barbell. Best advice is to research piercers is your area and talk to them first you will know straight off if they are knowledgeable and if they say they will use forceps walk away should only be done with a needle retreave tube.
