I am no legal expert, and I do think Craig should resign because he did plead guilty.
But,I think I found a loophole that might help him.
In Article 1, section 6 of the Constitution it says this...
Quote:They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
Now,since he was on his way to DC, and since he actually did cast a vote that night,couldnt he have his whole arrest declared null and void since it violates the Constitution?
Because according to this, they cant be arrested while going to or from DC.
