Good point! I guess that is why no Reps are demanding that Vitter resign. The governor of LA is a Dem.

Or maybe it is because Vitter was only interested in being diapered, which is innocent enough.

That was funny. Thanks, Roxxx.

Anyway, who the hell cares what these guys do? I don't trust any politician and I expect this kind of stuff from them. They're human and they have foibles and weaknesses. I'd rather have the devil I know that the devil I don't.

Tempest in a teapot.

Sglass, have a good flight back to Boston and say HI to Andrew for me. Let us know when you're back in Hawaii, ok?

Okie, is it your position that, since the Dems don't demand resignations, the Reps should not? Do the Reps base all their decisions on what the Dems do?

What a weird assessment, advocate. No way. Just because Dems do anything they want and don't care does not make me want the Republicans to imitate them. I am trying to get people to see the obvious need for both parties to have a slight bit of moral code. The Dems should get rid of their criminals and unethical actors as well.

For this country to survive, right and wrong should trump party, and with the Democrat Party, it obviously does not. You would have to be blind to what is going on to believe that.

Third world countries are third world countries, often because of corruption, expecially in politics. But politicians come from the populace, so we are on the slippery slope. We have not awakened to the fact that much of our success has been based on a society that operates mostly without widespread corruption, kickbacks, theft, etc. We need to decide what kind of country we want to be, and if we re-elect figures that are obviously corrupt, it doesn't look good for us.

I don't give a damn if someone f*cks chickens and eats dog **** straight from the tap in their private lives as long as they run my country efficiently and as elected to do when they're on the clock.

So the guy tried to blow someone and got caught. Happens every day all over the place. Happening somewhere while I type. Who cares?

As another mentioned, that is the Vitter case.

Rejection of Craig by senior republicans is hardly a matter of principle. Unless, of course, the 'principle' at issue is retaining power regardless of all else, or homosexual hankypanky bad/heterosexual hankypanky ok.

On a personal level, I feel sorry for Craig and Foley and Haggard. Almost. They have tied themselves to a party and an ideology which promotes (even insists upon) hatred towards gay people and which has purposefully set out to achieve political power through precisely the promotion of this hatred. And each of them has accepted the personal perks of money and status through forwarding all of this. In that sense, they surely deserve their own tragedies. And, just as surely, the conservative movement deserves to reap the consequences of all this hatred and hypocrisy. But how can one not feel some sympathy for these three, homosexual men born into an American culture which can be so barren of charity and so seething in bigotry.

If this were about sex in private between two consenting adults, no one should care, although there are scores of self-loathing latent homosexual homophobes who would care. But there is a lot more involved here than that. But you don't care, so why point out the dynamics.

Odd that you feel bestiality is equivalent to gay sex. Rolling Eyes

Netiquette as well, that is an extremely distasteful post. (Bi-polar's)

So Craig has announced he will reign effective 9/30. But he vows to "fight on." This guy just does not have a clue. This sounds like a suicide waiting to happen.

Roxxx - Say what you will, but the freedom of speech on this board is far better than that other place.

edit - BPB, I even take offense to your last comment to Roxxxane

sorry to offend.... i take offense at roxxannes obvious reference to me being some sort of unenlightened homophobe when it's obviously not true.

if i had said quit being so damn high and mighty when you're in no position to do so would probably have been less offensive. I retract my remark.

Of course, I would not expect a man to understand context. Women use vulgarity and profanity when it is appropos not just to be vulgar.

The post struck me as inappropriately vulgar and distasteful. If this were a thread about anal sex or marrying strippers, vulgarity is to be expected.

I know that BPB was just trying to be funny and I did not imply that he was homophobic.

I applaud the free speech here. On another forum, the sick f***s complained successfully that my avatar was graphic because my nipples were barely noticeable under my t-shirt.

LOL Nothing could be further fro the truth, ask anyone on this forum who has met me.

It is quite a stretch to say that someone who believes that women and men communicate differently (one distinction is that women understand context more precisely) carries a chip on her shoulder 24/7.

(I carry my chips* in my purse.)

*AA chips
