Now that's the spirit! Let's get some contraversy going. You guys can't let Roger down - He knows us too well and is, I'm sure, expecting some good ol' fashion A2K fun now that he knows we can e-mail him.

(Though I think Dys arriving in a little red wagon would be overkill for everyone in the hospital.) Laughing

Holy crap! Poor Roger!!!

If you're gonna get knocked down you might as well be doing something that you love but this......?

Crossing the highway? He was hit by someone going highway speed? Crap.

Poor Roger.

<shaking head>

(Shopping list for me: one good bike helmet.)

Really, Walter?

Do they have one of those patron / patroness for every outdoor activity or does god just like cyclists?

I think if you do some research you will find a patron saint for skateboarders, rollerbladers and bungee jumpers. Somewhere.

You do have to wonder why things like this happen to nice guys. Why couldn't some real jerk have been the victim?

From my forays into reading about what the treatment of a stable pelvic fracture involves, assuming it's stable - as Noddy said, a lot of bed rest, something I see them calling "recumbency" - I don't think Roger will be reading this thread on his computer immediately.. though I haven't found anything about timing yet. Maybe when he is feeling better we can print it out.

So it would be a good idea, I think, to do like ehBeth and Walter did and carry forward the links for emailing him or faxing him at the hospital every so often.

So, here they are again -

Place to email -
http://www.sanjuanregional.com/index.cfmfa=category.display&category_id=359
(I am apparently the only one who can't email him - my cursor just won't type in the window)

Place to mail -
San Juan Regional Medical Ctr
Farmington, NM 87401

Fax: 505-599-6249

telephone - he didn't say no calls at all, did say he doesn't want a lot of calls. 505-325-5011
(He mentioned twice that he'd heard from BPB, and I told him you tried to get through, Walter. Probably told me more than twice that he'd gotten a dozen emails.)

Maybe we should all bend over, hold hands, shove candles up our asses, and light them in honor of Roger. Now wouldn't that be a memorable tribute? I don't know Roger very well, but I would think that any normal human being would be deeply touched by something like that. So who's with me?
