Roger just called me from the hospital. Given we're both hard of hearing, our conversation is never perfect.
He's in San Juan Regional (Medical Center), in the Farmington, New Mexico area. I guess I'll be bald and give his last name, Edwards. (awaits lightening). Room 457.
He had a meeting with a car when on his bicycle and has at least a rib and his pelvis involved.
They don't seem to have drugged him to dodo yet, we dryly chatted, as the (person) came in to get his vital signs and I had to go.
Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil
Oh no! Poor roger! Thanks for letting us know, osso.
Argh! I always feel so helpless in these situations. Roger, we're waiting for you to come tell us you're ok........ (get better fast!).
Damn!!!!
That has to hurt.
I do hope he is soon well and out and about.
Lord love a duck, get Roger well.
Any plans to go up and see him?
Yeah; that has to hurt, all right. Get well, Roger.
Hoping all isn't too serious - the very best for roger!!!
Not all too serious?
it is serious.
Sorry, Walter, to hit you with that when you were wishing welll.
But this is really tough on Roger, never mind the physical part.
Osso, It's not possible to tell from your first post how serious this is. Sorry to hear that it is serious. I'll be hoping for good things for Ratty Roger.
Oy.
Why wouldn't people take Roger just called me from the hospital as serious?
Walter said "TOO" serious, osso. As in, not critically injured. We're all hoping the same thing. Please keep us informed as they know more, okay? Roger is important to us.
I just walked in from the emergency room with SonofEva, as a matter of fact. He went on a school trip to St. Louis today and got hit in the eye with a ball. We picked him up at the airport at 11:30 and took him straight to the emergency room. They estimate it will be at least 3 a.m. before they get to him, so I came home to get some sleep. Dad is staying up there with him. His vision is blurry, he has a black eye, and we suspect his cornea is scratched at the least. Will check in on Roger here in the morning and let you all know how things are going for our boy, too.

I can imagine that. That's why I wish it isn't TOO serious (= having to stay for weeks in the hospital or even life threatening etc.).
That's what I hope.

For SonofEva my very best wishes as well!!!!
What the hell are we quibbling about? Surely I never said it wasn't serious, more the opposite.
What a group of kumquats.
I ride a lot of bicycles and motorcycles so I fully sympathize Roger, don't let it get you down!!
Heal up quick!
Do I need to quote myself, on such a thread?

Again, osso: I hope [for roger] that his injururies aren't too serious.
Might be, this is a European tradition/culture/sentence, but you find such even on get well cards here.
Waves hand, really, bunch of furble. Let it be.

Why would I adjust my take on the phone call based on Walter's comment?
On the situation with your son, I'm in your boy's corner, period.
