Glad BPB reached Roger, whew.
Msolga, I don't know about his cats. I had told littleK that he probably has called someone about them (he sounded sharp when I talked with him Friday evening.)
I just called and talked to his nurse. Turns out he's not in room 457, but they didn't say which room.
I told her our concern about his cats, and that I knew he was in pain, but if she had a chance would she ask him about them, to ask him if there was anyone I, or she, could call to help if he needed it, and gave her my number.
She said he had been given pain medication and was asleep now, and that she would ask him.

That's good of you, osso.
He's very attached to those critters & I'm certain, would be quite upset if they weren't being properly cared for in his absence.

you can leave me out of this mess; I ain't driving to Farmington to visit no republican. i wouldn't drive to Farmington to visit no democrat either.
Forgot to mention I also told the nurse a lot of us online and real life friends were concerned about him...
I would drive to Farmington to feed his cats though.

Well, grouch, you can run along behind the car on the way to Farmington.
BBB
I don't walk around the block let alone 184 miles to farmington.
BPB - thanks for getting through and passing on the info.

We can attach your little red wagon to the rear bumper.

Thanks for the update, bear. Poor Roger, he may have a tough row to hoe.
Glad to hear that the Bear was able to speak to Roger. Not liking the news he got, but it's good that an Atookaian family member was able to speak with him.
I'm sure the volunteers will be busy in the morning, running all the emails up to Roger's room.
Roger just called. The (nurse) helped him dial.
We talked for several minutes. A little hard to converse, as he would be clear and then his voice would fade, and I would do my "what?" routine.
I think he said the pelvis is definitely broken, and think he said that doing surgery on it would be overkill. His doctor seemed "pretty sharp".
The food is pretty good for hospital food but they wouldn't give him any bacon.
His boss and a lady in the office are feeding the cats.
He has gotten a dozen emails. He didn't mind that I posted his name.
Something about enjoying the attention.
I asked him if he wanted phone calls. Said one or two would be ok maybe but not a lot.
He likes today's nurse. Yesterday's, no. (Something about rules, rules, rules.)
he likes attention
in that case, let's drag up the link to "email Roger at the hospital" (full name in Ossobuco's original lightning-strike-invoking post  )
Ow..

Their FAX-number is
HERE - just in case, you want it to make more personal
Poor Roger. I'm betting bed rest will be indicated. Ugh.
At least "cracked" is not "crushed".
