Rightorama?! LOL Blatham - but can you prove Buchanan wrong on the FACTS, at least as quoted in this review of his book;

Quote:
"STATE OF EMERGENCY: THE THIRD WORLD INVASION AND CONQUEST OF AMERICA."

The thesis is flawed. No one who can be said to be a reputable epidemiologist has ever claimed that hepatitis and tuberculosis were eliminated from the United States. I had a positive TB skin test in 1989--not because i've ever had TB, but because i'd been exposed to TB-positive persons while working in a homeless shelter.

Now, if your boy Buchanan can prove that illegal immigrants have brought leprosy into the United States--he might salvage an otherwise pathetic thesis.

Ah, ya gotta love free entertainment . . .

Setanta - so there's no difference between a positive TB test following some casual contact, and the actual disease? Reputable epidemiologists will back you on this, you say?

You guys sound like a bunch of dorks. "Damn bitch got what she deserved, speaking up on a book about politics."

Don't hit me, Slappy.

I'm actually on your side here. I'm making fun of the fact people are agreeing with being rude because the book is about politics.

Ah, gotcha ... good. But I appreciate that actually living in that environment might condition one to be a bit rude based on those kind of experiences.

(And I think we all know Setanta would have just slapped the lady, straightaway.)

There is not discernable difference based on the skin test--which is why i was sent for an x-ray, which showed no signs of TB. The physician who read the x-ray told me i could have a course of treatment for TB, or simply come back at six moths and one year to confirm that there was no evidence of TB. I chose the latter course, because the positive skin test result is common in shelter workers, and was paid for by our employers--whereas the drug treatment would not have been paid. On both subsequent x-rays, there was no evidence of TB.

That, of course, is completely beside the point, because the point is that your boy Buchanan is making **** up when he claims that TB and hepatitis were eliminated in the United States. You don't even get extra-credit for this feeble attempt to avoid the flaws in Buchanan's rant.

Hoist on your own petard--you asked to have Buchanan "prove[d] . . . wrong on the FACTS (your emphasis)." I was just being sufficiently polite to provide you with that which you had requested.

Only a fellow hysteric would agree with your summary of our posts, but the issue is too vital to quibble about: do you, or do you not, deny that deadly diseases like drug-resistant TB and anthrax come into the country with illegal aliens as carriers?

Epidemiologists - whom you're fond of quoting - will confirm this is a proven fact. Medical checks at borders would have stopped this danger.

I'll buy your horseshit just as soon as you provide the evidence from reliable epidemiologists. As for stopping them at the border, OMFG, i fell out laughing with that one.

If they're illegals, that means they're not being stopped at the border, so how are doctors supposed to examine them?

You crack me up.

Delighted to hear that anthrax, drug-resistant TB, ebola, flesh-eating bacteria and the like crack you up, Setanta - you must lead a charmed life if you find humor in these things.

Perhaps you will look up the number of cases of all of the above treated in US hospitals in patients found to be here illegally - try the CDC database.

Walter - the CDC database is where the data is found; the census makes no distinction between legal and illegal residents.

A very rare lapse in your data-mining skills:)

I responded to your nonsensical, inferential claim that Buchanan was stating facts about TB, hepatitis and leprosy in the review you quoted. You can attempt muddy the issue with hysterical rants about diseases brought into the country by illegal immigrants, but the FACT remains that you sneered at Mr. Mountie and demanded that he refute alleged facts which were not facts.

As i pointed out before, TB and hepatitis were never eliminated in the United States. You might be able to prove that the incidence and prevalence of tuberculosis and hepatitis have increased due to illegal immigration--but that was not your claim. I've dispensed with your claim, and you aren't clever enough to back me into a corner in an attempt to prove claims i've never made.

I know that. But I only wanted to prove that those quoted diseases WERE found in the USA - at least since 1970.

Hysteria turning into full-fledged mania..... I wouldn't bother acknowledging this delusional diatribe were it not for correcting your allegations of "sneering" at Walter - he certainly knows better than that.

Get some rest, Setanta, and have a happy and healthy 2007.

You're not very good at this, are you?

I did not mention Walter. But it doesn't surprise me to see that you cannot follow the thread of the conversation.
