Hi guys! I've just been alerted to this thread which I seem to have missed since I've started. I'd be glad to post my thoughts from time to time.

May I ask what illness Husker has? He seems like a real nice guy. I hope his situation improves.

<fingers crossed>

Reyn, Husker has had a recurring staph infection which has hospitalized him several times. Mapleleaf is now recovering from serious complications himself. Should you want to know more, see here:

Mapleleaf I have my fingers crossed that you'll get through this soon and return to 100% "happy and healthy" status.

Dear diary,
Good news, the clinic folks called to inform me that I didn't need to come for the next dialysis session. Now, if we could discover why my left hand swells everyday???

Maple, ask them. If you are not on line with them, get on line with them.

Thanks, Letty. I remembered the day after I wrote the above post that he replied to one of mine on the subject in "The Wake" thread.

<Reyn smacks his forehead.....>

My wife was lucky that she beat it after an extensive period of time. I hope Husker will do the same.

We'll say a little prayer for him.....

Mapleleaf, good to see you are back and doing better. I am thinking of you and sending lots of energy to you.

Dear Diary,

We spent one week in Sweden with Stefan's family for the christening of our new niece - his sister's daughter. Little Hanna is a very sweet and a very friendly child. It was good to be able to spend some time with the family and we also met with two of his friends.

Of course, it wasn't much like a real vacation and the weather was not too nice either. But we had a very good time and enjoyed it extremely.

The day after we got home I had to leave for a three-day business trip to Brussels. This will most likely be the last trip for me for quite some time. I will change jobs on April 1 - moving from my international job into the local HR department. It will be a challenge, lots of new things to learn and a good experience. But I do not want to get stuck there for more than a year. We will see...

But first another Sunday and another holiday!

Dear diary,
My surgeon tracked down the puffed hand (now includes one side of my neck) to blood clots. My body is rejecting the presence of the tubes used for dialysis. Apparently, my improving kidneys are contributing to the clots.

urs53, if you would contact me prior to your visiting your brother, I could arrange to meet you.

Dear Diary,

I started my new job last Friday. Met some of the new colleagues. So today was my second day at the new job. And yesterday, Sunday, one of my new colleagues died in a motorcycle accident. It is very hard to understand and accept. I just met him on Friday, he was so positive and extremely likeable. 32 years old. I hope he had a good life. He died doing what he liked most - riding his motorcycle.

Good night now... Crying or Very sad

Motorcycles breed life, great, inhaling, gobs of life.
To die on a motorcycle is regretful and painful, but True.

To die reaching and smiling . . . is honest and strong.

PS -- Sorry I haven't been around much lately.

Dear Diary,

Now I am three weeks into my new job. It is extremely busy and I have to do things I don't have a clue about. But yesterday I sent out my first hiring contract to a girl who was really happy about the job. I very much like that aspect of HR work. But all the applications I have to return...

I managed to have my hair cut on Tuesday after work and went to the gym on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Tonight I will have a relaxed evening with my friend Tanja. We will watch the Bridget Jones movie, drink wine and eat chocolate and play with the cats. Stefan is not working tonight. He is on his way to a rock concert with some friends. I'm sure he will have lots of fun. And I am glad I don't have to be there... ;-)

Now I will look for some old pictures to show Tanja and make her laugh :-)

Urs, interesting post.

Dear Diary,
The dialysis is past. However, the vascular surgeon wants me to keep the tubes and such on my chest...until May 12th. Our weather in NW Georgia stays coolish and windy. When I'm up to it, I work outside. I lost some of the plantings during the winter...too much mulch instead of too little. Still, I am slowly accumulating plants...some beautiful lilies, purple with a yellow tongue. etc. basically, life is good. Very Happy
