I swear it wasn't working properly this morning ... honest!
Dear Diary,
I just finished posting Dear Diary, p.36 on Abuzz. Folks there have a contended group who enjoy one another. I suspect they will happier maintaining what they have.
After a day and night of happy partying yesterday, today was a very quiet and peaceful day. Went up in the hills with an old friend, to places where they sell fresh-picked strawberries and cherries.
The strawberry place is a one hundred and fifty year old farm - old for Australia - with a lovely old homestead and a peaceful fern walk. We wandered through the ferns, and ended up at the top of a grassy hill, where we lay down in the grass like children and enjoyed the sun, since it is suddenly cool here again, and then had a Devonshire tea.
The hills are very lovely - even in the midst of a very dry summer - and good to travel through. The friend I went with and I travel well together - both finding joy in process and meandering - I tend to be very intense and hyper - so 'tis good to wind down and do nothing very special........
DD,
Chilly in the house; no wonder Mr. Jespah has a cold. I hope I'm not getting it but it's a distinct possibility. My aunt called last night, asking how the painting was going. Seems my whole family is interested in our renovations work.
She isn't coming to my mother's birthday (she has plane tickets to Mexico then) but will take Mom out some time when she (my aunt) returns. So we have one no, but I think the rest of the invitees will say yes. I hope so, it'll be good to see everyone although we did see them all this past summer for my 40th birthday.
To all of you abuzzers - I really needed this right now. Spent all day with my two youngest grandsons, who are such fun to be with. Tough as nails - straight out of the sopranos sometimes. I was tempted to put the 11 year old on abuzz, to match against some of the bad ones, but resisted.
Anyway, jespah, I think I am beginning to figure this out, but will be over for help.
And they say it may snow for Christmas. I'll believe that when I see it.
Short entry. Hate being sick, just hate it. Hoepfully it's 24. (Haven't been this sick in a long time. Hubby and sozlet are spared so far, knock on wood.)
Here's hoping you recover quickly, sozobe.
Whoops!!!
Wrong thread! Thought I was on my previous email link, "word association game"!
Please carry on from before my post.
Ugh! No fun being sick at Christmas, or anytime. Hope you feel better very soon, sozobe!
Oh, thanks for all the good wishes, everyone!! It seems to have been 24-hour flu, or maybe something iffy I ate, but I'm well on the road to complete recovery.
Merry Christmas!
DD: I'm grateful for the kind thoughts here, esp. from Mapleleaf, msolga, and Diane. I think I had a mild case of food poisoning; some deer meat was a year old and was not kept at zero degrees. It didn't seem to bother Mr. dupre, but <sigh> evidently it did bother me. But at age 42, the change can't be too far off, can it?
I guess we are making some friends: four families brought holiday cheer and I'm grateful for the warm feelings.
We now have running water in the kitchen and the new you-need-a degree-in Engineering-to-work-this-thing dishwasher in online.
Next week, the washer and dryer and upstairs sink will be in, and things will feel more normal around here to me.
I got two new canvas-covered closets to help organize clothes till the closet is built.
Talk about hormonal strength! I helped a friend landscape her yard, just the beginning stage of separating pathways from beds. I moved, oh about a thousand rocks to line her pathways. We also brought down two trees and raked her caliche pathways so she can now access her yard which was impossible before. I can't wait to show it off to Mr. dupre today when we go there for Christmas dinner.
I grieve for the people in our nation suffering from severe weather, and I'm so grateful that we are not.
I hope everyone here at able2know has a very merry Christmas and returns to our group safely.
