BPB, I was not meaning some kind of religious quarantine, I meant that the modern Jews (those that are religious, of course) are monotheists, and the episodes of inappropriate behavior in terms of deviations from monotheism belong to the very distant past. When I see video of these marches, I see the butt-cut outs, the bondage clothing, and the making out.
If all they did was march in T-shirts with quippy gay slogans, I'd not have a complaint.

Sofia, what you see on tv are a minority. They grab the attention of the cameras. Mostly, the gay pride marches are of a lot of people who are wearing quippy t-shirts and chanting slogans. And many of those people aren't even gay.

Well, littlek, if this is the situation then gay activists could do a favor, first and foremost for themselves for not to induce grassroots homophobia:
- to ban participance of flamboyant idiots with bad manners in their rallies
- To change the name of event from pretentious "Pride Day" to acceptable "Equal Rights day"
Steissd. to adress your first point - the whole idea of the parade is about acceptance and flamboyancy can be part of that. To the second point.... maybe you should drop the organizers a line.
The term "flamboyancy" was my euphemism of scenes of making out in public. IMO, it is absolutely inacceptable for either gays or straights. I am not an admirer of the Brasilian (straight) carnival for the same reasons.
Hey, they just want to have fun on their outing. I say, "What's the harm?" We see ridiculous things in public and on the news every day. The fact these folk are gay does not - should not - change things.

What is the harm? Well, defecation in public is not so harmful either, but its ultimate tastelessness made it a misdemeanor.
What has defecation to do with a gay pride march?
I opposed making out in public; it is as indecent as to defecate in presence of other people.
actually defecation in public is a clear health hazard to all around.
Equating love and defecation is very disturbing to me.
