Oh, if I must...

Jeffers, could you bring us a couple more bottles of this? It's scrumptious! And could you check and see if you have any of that Camembert left? You do? And Nicoise olives, too?! Perfect! Diane needs a little food to go with her wine. She's had quite a lot, you see...

close your eyes, close the door
You don't have to worry any more
I'll be your baby tonight
shut the light, shut the shade
You don't have to be afraid
Well, that mockingbird's gonna sing away
We're gonna forget it
That big fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon,
But we're gonna let it
You won't regret it.
Kick your shoes off, do not fear
Bring that bottle over here
I'll be your baby tonight

(returning to room and seeing Lola & Diane curled up in front of fireplace with Dys...)

Oh, damn. My timing is off again. Well, goodnight you three. You'll have to enjoy the rest of the Bollingers without me. I've had enough, and I'm going to bed now...

(stumbles up stairs, falls asleep on landing...)

Harumppphhhh some scallywags drunk all the Bollinger after I told them I was going to rescue Trevor too, I wonder if the note got misplaced.

Here I am broken by war and driven back by the fates and not even a glass of Bolly to wet my whistle- Hiama tramps off in a state of high dudgeon, people better keep out of his way for a bit....

Diane wakens to the sound of a psssssssst. Yikes!! I hope that isn't what I think it was! Oh good, it's just Gautam. Oh Gautam, how good to see you.
Funny, I was just dreaming of a state of high dudgeon and what a state it was. Hiama was there, looking all out of sorts and grumpy. Yawn....strange, I wonder why he was in it, it isn't the kind of dream I usually have about hiama, not even close.
Well, g'night dear Gautam, I'm sorry but all that wonderful champagne was too much for me to handle; I'm off to bed.
Diane wanders up the stairs, stumbling over Viz on the way. Hmm, this promises to be a very strange day.

And just what kind of dreams do you have abt Hiama Diane ? <he asks with a quizzical expression and a (perfectly shaped) raised eyebrow>

Don't answer that, Diane! Hiama probably put him up to it!

So nice to meet you, Gautam! I'm new here. Everyone has made me feel so welcome. The name's Viz... (love the turban!)...

Gautam, you can raise that perfectly shaped brow all you like, but I'm not telling. (Maybe sometime when we're alone.)

Yum...I had to look up Glenmorangie and this is part of what I found:

GLENMORANGIE RETREATS

Up here in the Glen of Tranquillity we call it GLENMORANGIE's Highland Home, because that's exactly what it is. It is calm and peaceful and tranquil. But step over the threshold and the subtle warmth of the welcome that awaits you will have you relaxed and smiling in no time at all. Indeed, you could say that GLENMORANGIE House reflects all the qualities that you will find residing in a glass of GLENMORANGIE itself and, believe me, up here there can be no higher praise than that.

If the shores of the Dornoch Firth are a little too distant for you to travel, perhaps you might find the GLENMORANGIE Lodge in Pennsylvania USA closer to home? Whichever destination you prefer, we'd love to see you. You can be sure there'll be a glass of malt waiting for you by the fireside.

I'm ready to go--anyone else?

Hiama has been so generous with the Bollingers, I will buy a case of Orangie for him. It is sooo embarrassing that we (mostly I) drank alllll the champagne.

What? Out of champagne? No way. Withers? Did you let HIAMA run out of champagne? Please show our dear HIAMA where the key to the wine cellar is kept. We can't let this happen again.

Welcome Gautum to my humble abode. Is there anything Withers, Jeffers, Fifi or Prudence can get you? Anything at all to make you comfortable.

Diane, is Viz still on the landing? I must have gotten a bit carried away last night. I'm just waking up. Prudence must have arranged for me to get to my bed.

Dys? Are you ok after being everyone's baby last night?

Here I am, Lola. Just came from a long, lovely soak in the whirlpool. All these bruises...someone must have stepped on me last night.

I believe I'll have a glass of that champagne to kill the pain, Jeffers, if you wouldn't mind. Some cheese to go with it? Oh no, please no...no more mixing alcohol and food for me! I'll just stick with the bubbly tonight, thanks.

As the bruises fade, the lightning aches.
Last week, making love, you bite me.
Now the blue and dark have gone
and yellow bruises grow toward pale daffodils,
then paler to become until my body
is all my own and whatever that ever got me.
