c.i., was it expensive? Just curious.............

Lola must kiss her guests and run upstairs to pack her bags. She's off tomorrow to L.A. and then back on Sunday............Lola is having a very important guest, arriving on Sunday. Very Happy

I'll come back down later, when I'm all fixed up and share an evening, before bedtime cognac with everyone.

Kiss..........see you all later.

Lola, Actually, it's very cheap. I went to Fry's Electronics in Sunnyvale, to look for one, but their models costs $100, so I went on the internet and found one for $26.95. After adding shipping and sales tax, it came to $36.21. It was delivered in three days. Wink c.i.

Ok so next time I WILL put on clothes, these web cams tut tut.

Hiama stretches and wonders why his typing finger on his right hand is twice the size of the one on his left hand, must get a qwerty keyboard like everyone else-that should help.

Any maple syrup and pancakes left Withers ?

Can I have cream on mine and a nice strong triple expresso, that should start the ATP and get my energy cycle going (That's funny most people have theirs in a gym !).

Hiama tucks into his pancakes and thinks of Lola jetting off to LA.

Withers hands the note from Lola across to Hiama, together with a scond helping of pancakes and syrup. Hiama is enjoying his stay as Withers has been given strict instructions by Lola to spoil us rotten. Hiama is wondering whether P & L, Jes, Dyslexia, Billw and Ci. are around, he saw Danon in the pool doing laps. Hoft is off to help Blatham with the script and managing the War (or not) with Iraq. So Hiama decides to swim back across the pond to see if he still has got a job in the UK.

2:00 AM...Withers wakes with a start. This, of itself, doesn't surprise him as he seldom wakes with a finish. The psychic machinations of sleep have pushed up islands of anxiety, shifted continents of concern, and all is now now crushed together into a Pangea of panic. How else, he wonders, wiping the drips of sweat from his brow, to explain the vibrant full-throated song that blasted inwards from his ears which awakened him? Sitting now, the music was as clear as a...as a really clear thing of some sort. It's form, he observed, was to be described only as Square Dance Rap. There was a visual memory too. The performer, in a square dance caller ten gallon, up on a dusty but well lit stage with a single mike, was the President. On the dance floor below, in swirly gingham or boots that smelled of cowshit, were all the patrons of Lola's Salon. The caller stepped up to the mike and initiated coreolises of petticoats and belt buckles...

"You just bow your legs
Tuck your thumbs in your belt
Kick out HARD to the right
(Pretend that's Roosevelt)
Doncha turn like no Frencheey
Don try to do si do svelte.
And if you wanna get lucky
Get lucky with a southern belle
(Yep)

Now you face your partner
Like she's the infidel
It's the showdown hoedown
You're gonna ring her bell
Till she shouts out 'Holy!'
'Holy Mackerell!'
You gotta get righteous-
Dallasiteous with a southern belle
(Yep)

Do a promenade
Round the Liberty Bell
Rove right on past it
Do a Machiavell
Then a Rumsfeldstiltskin
And spin a blazin hell.
And that's the end of my story
I'm goin to glory with my southern belle
(Yep)

Cobalt runs in and runs out of the Salon, quickly, yet again. Really, tis nothing "personal", lol! She hopes to be in Illinois late tonight, but we shall see, eh?

Lola, hope you're having a nice trip - wow, sounds so "jetset", doncha know. Hiama - I have a web cam too (!) but can't use for a bit, yet. Liked the look of the oatmeal you had......hehehehehheheheheh

Blatham, ci, danon5 and hiama are seriously romantic men - bless you!

Seriously romantic men they are. And Lola will be square dancing with the best of them. The southern belle in Withers' dream is sooooooooooooooo excited to at last have a dance in the real moon light.

Hiama - you realize that Switzerland has no national anthem, mostly because nobody could agree on german/french/italian verses to be used; football matches start with spectators standing and humming while the band plays "God Save the Queen".

What next, "Switzerland Rules the Waves"?? LOL

OK - back in a couple of weeks; over to the Southern Conference <G>
