Stradee returns from wonderful run ~ perfect weather for getting in shape agreeing with P&L ~

Although Stradee invites felines for mile run, they somehow lose interest at roads end ~ Stradee contemplating adopting German Shepherd puppy from rescue group.

Thank you HIAMA for warm Valentines Day greeting ~ brought hugs and chocolate hearts ~

Hope all had a wonderful Valentine's day!

A German Shepherd puppy! Does the rescue group know his parentage, though, Stradee? Some criminal breeders have produced bloodlines with hip dysplasia, and those poor animals suffer horribly in later life.

Diane got trapped in a dressing room of the Saks Fifth Avenue fine lingerie department? Winona Ryder' dream! Irresistibly brings to mind Oscar Wilde's observation "Do not do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you - their tastes may be different."

Or take that perfect gentleman, Hiama, who thoughtfully gave me a supercomputer instead of a valentine - thank you!

And what's that bluish glow just over the horizon? Did Cobalt misplace her radiation suit again?!

As to Blatham's Valentines, words fail me. Never a boring moment in Lola's Salon <G>

Good evening all. Lola is working in her study again. Hopefully finished by Thursday. She's made great progress. If only she didn't get so far into her work that she keeps finding more to write about. She would have been finished months ago. Oh well, she's having fun and producing something to be proud of.

Withers, I'll take a cup of coffee in my study........must stay awake a bit longer.

Hi Hoft! Please, not to worry about German Shepherd. Not purebred ~ as none of my rescues <except one, my Red Dobbie whose life cut short by inbreeding practices/ he was only 7 years old when he passed from god-knows-what/the vet saying blood disease>

New puppy will be Shep/Collie mix <similar to pic I sent you of "Sasha" who passed naturally from old age> boohoo miss my Zag and Sasha.

New puppy soooooooooo cute! Will only bring home when sure puppy gets along well with felines and vice versa <plus property varience clearance> until then, puppy receiving much love and affection from foster mom.

Thanks for your concern ~ always appreciated Very Happy

Danon keeping an eye on Cobolt's travels viewed with infra red goggles kept safely in jet. Must call Pepe <again> regarding radiation suit/hoping Cobolt safe flying P&L's supersonic glider.

Love the new outfits Diane! <Stradee wondering why Diane wearing all her new cloths at once ~ perhaps she's also on a weight loss regime? >

c.i. ~ just breath dear Laughing

Blathams Valentine's extra-ordinary enjoyed by all of Lola's friends ~ Stradee impressed with new Baby Grande Piano ~

Stradee runs to Hornet grabs oxygen mask and rushes toward c.i. who's face is turning a bit pale.

"Wheeze, wheeze" say's c.i. Stradee gives c.i. oxygen and a Claritin, then says "probably best if you sit for a few more minutes before dancing the Charelston again". Smile

Stradee, I also took advantage of the glorious sunshine yesterday ( Sunday) to go for a nice long run, it was very cold though so I was wearing two tracksuits !

HofT, thank you for your kind comments, as Seymour Cray said:-

"The next leap forward in supercomputing will be biological computing--using DNA and proteins as the computing elements just as Nature does."

Kinda gives a whole new meaning to " she pushed my buttons !"

Lola, don't work too had

C.i.- try breathing into a brown paper bag, is hyper ventilating breathing in hyper space ?

Withers I am absolutely freezing may have a nice large mug of hot chocolate with lashings of marshmallows, that should hit the spot

Hiama, let's hope Lola's building contractors finish that pool in the basement soon. Upon reflection, would rather have it heated to 84 Fahrenheit; blizzard has hit the East Coast, bringing 2 ft of snow, and we're freezing here also. Btw, didn't know Seymour Cray had said that; great admirer of his dazzling designs here, would have thought him, had he lived, more likely to have continued along same lines to submolecular precision - quantum computing perhaps?

Looking at airport advisories, see a 3-hour window in which there's hope of takeoff (Boston) and landing (DC) so will leave in "out" tray text and attachments addressed to Blatham for mailing later today. Had written it late at night before last trip but knowing it to be confused left it for editing; now decided editing (by me, at any rate) wouldn't improve matters, so, implicitly trusting Blatham's writing and decoding talents, am sending it as is. Thanks so much in advance!

Note: please don't miss part requesting that copy be made and sent to Lola, as it's already 8 a.m. here and have no time to re-open envelope if I'm to get on the shuttle on time. My hope is that it will expedite her work enormously; alternatively it may confuse it, but I'm letting you and the other recipient (also mentioned in letter) be judges of that. Thanks again <G>

Hiama can still smell Hoft's perfume lingering in the Salon, he hopes she makes the shuttle OK. He spies Lola sitting in the corner, taking a break from her arduous task. He offers her some rejuvenating Ginger and Lemon tea.

P & L arrives with her lovely dog in tow and they all play fetch the ball for a few minutes before Lola has to go back to work, Blatham looks like he has heavy eyes from his workload too.

" Well P & L looks like its just the two of us, shall we sit by the fire and see who else comes in a bit later ? "

"Ah, yes, hiama, sitting here by the fire is a great idea in cold weather!"

"I'd like to hear more about Stradee's new puppy. We rescued a Border Collie last November, and we're really happy we did. Jack loves his little sister, 'Bunny'. She fit right into our home, but our cat has not been quite as happy, because Bunny chases cats. So, Lila does her catting at night while Bunny is sleeping in Rosanne's room. Actually, if Lila wouldn't run, Bunny wouldn't chase her. It's the running that attracts the chasing!"

Peace&Love kicks off her shoes and stretches her feet out towards the fireplace.

"Ahhhh, I love a crackling fire!"

"I hope Lola can take a break from her work and join us!"

Very Happy

So do I.

We really miss our little old girl nikkei she was such a wonderful doggie companion, I am sure she had esp-she could know what you were thinking. We also lost our little cat tilly a couple of years ago. I'm all for getting two more little ones-my wife still has some grieviing to do for our littel dog its only been 3 months so I'll wait.

Hiama gives P & L some gentle shiatsu and she falls asleep , Hiama puts a pillow under her head so she is comfy.

cobalt donates at least 10 cushy pillows from her guest bedroom supplied by gracious Texans, of all people! She has NO interest in further sleep, as she is having ArtMoments all over the place at present! Playing around online with a friend of ours - by the way, if anyone strays away from the Salon or Blatham's road trips or air adventures, I'd recommend NE Texas in February, hehehehe....

Hoft words fail you, that kind of extraordinary for you Smile

Are you aware that the fastest computer is based on Seymour Cray discarded work. Amazing what the Japanese can do, and with the weather modeling.

Lola takes a break:

Hi everyone. I'm having fun hearing about all the pets of my friends.

P&L, it's true, it's the running that causes the chase. So it's a good idea, if you love being chased, to run a bit. I personally love a good chase. I'm sorry Lila doesn't enjoy it. It's too bad to have to save catting for the night alone. Sometimes I like to do mine in the daytime.

HofT, you've attracted my curiousity. You have something for me that will make my work easier. I'm ready. Nice to see you, BTW. I hope you made it to DC, but I fear you may not make it out again today.

Cobalt! I haven't heard from you! Where are you? In North East Texas. It is a nice place to be in February, March and April. Late September and October aren't bad either.

firstthought, how have you been? I'm so glad you and HIAMA have decided to find us here. I've been missing you

HIAMA,

Uh........uh....shiatsu huh? Ummm......umm......I'll have to go back to work soon, but in the meantime............

Hi Hoft ~ hope ya make the airport and flight before next storm. News said the east coast buried with snow and ice. Hope all from the area safe.

HIAMA ~ running is great when the weather permits ~ today worked in the yards ~ tomorrow <if I can still move> will hit the pavement wearing one set of jog cloths <only because rain isn't expected till later in the day>
Save hot chocolate for me.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty and doggie. Sad when the little guys pass over ~ they're like our babies! Sending condolences and good thoughts for both you and your wife.

Hi Lola ~ glad you've taken a break from work. Writing's lot of fun though, and sometimes a person can lose track of time when buried in the office researching. Hope you can join us for dinner ~ Withers says he's prepared a favorite recipe.

P&L ~ not sure if puppy will be ok here. Have 7 felines pretty much running the house now! That and the property varience. Boohoo. Puppy is so adorable. Well, maybe when I move again property will be large enough for felines and doggies. My hope for horse sanctuary will allow more animals. Ya all can call me Ms Noah then Very Happy

Sounds as if your house is very lively with Jack and his little sister Bunny ~ Lila in true cat fashion running away from dogs. My neighbors doggies visit when they "escape" their yards. Too funny. P.J ~
<he's an Apso > and also Thor <a black lab>. The lab just sits and says "hi" ~ the Apso chases ~ cats thoroughly insulted that their run of the neighborbood interrupted. Thor was raised with his sister who just passed, so the poor guy gets lonely. PJ just loves chasing the cats!

I can chat all day about companion animals ~ but I believe Withers has just announced "dinner is served".

All of Lola's friends begin walking toward the diningroom.

Thanks, Stradee for getting together with Withers about dinner. How lovely. Your house sounds like so much fun with all those cats and puppies. We found a good home for our "sweet" (not) dog, Tex. He kept jumping in the pool and none of us had the time to jump in and drag him out. So a friend of ours with two boys, ages 9 and 14 wanted him. He is delighted. They take him for walks everyday. And when he jumps in thier pool, they have the time and the patience to get him out. But I think it still makes them a little bit annoyed with him. He's such a naughty dog.

Dinner was excellent. Now back to work.

Hiama is enjoying a post prandial chat with Stradee and P & L, Lola has left them to work, she is an inspiration to us all.

I do hope that this snow which has affected so many of our dear friends like Jespah, HofT soon disabates, we have been pretty lcky in the UK. Whilst it is cold, the snow has only been sparse and mainly in Scotland, England has been largely unaffected.

Would anyone like to join me in a nice Armagnac- Withers may we have the 15 year old Armagnac you keep for special occasions please ?
