Merry Andrew ambles over to the sideboard, his high-heeled cowboy riding boots leaving soft imprints in the plush carpet, pours himself a shot of red-eye and scratches his head, wondering what a gaffling gun might be.

Tired from the evening's excitement, Lola sits in her chair in the corner while Stradee, MA and PaL sing as Diane plays some funny, light hearted piece on the piano.

Jeffers serves coffee and Lola feels cozy and warm with her friends all around her. Trevor appears through the doorway and nods his head at Lola, smiling.

Standing, Lola removes her fringed robe and places it over the back of her chair.

"Come up with me Trevor," says Lola, as the two friends, arm in arm, climb the stairs together, "we can sit by the fireplace in my room and I'll read to you."

Hi Jes Very Happy Glad we outran the Hummer - who knew the pizza guy mistook
your ATV for his Toy-ohta....... Laughing Good to be here

MA - not sure what a gaffling gun is either - word just sounded good at the time.....never mind Embarrassed

Stradee enters the library - mouth agape staring at the fabulous decor - finds an original copy of London's "Call of the Wild" - holds the leatherbound
copy in her hands allowing herself to drift toward the Alaskan Tundra - listening..........

Hi Jes, Hi Lola, Hi PAL - Withers, may I have a Mocha? Will just sit here on the sofa with you guys, and read the first chapter if that's ok. I promise to return transcript before going home.......warm and cozy, Stradee (onmymarc) begins reading..........

(Jes, how do you make wavy letters appear - ya know the xoxoxoxox's)

Ah, the wavy thingie happens when you go into your profile and create a signature line. The line can be anything not, er, obscene.

Lola opens her eyes, and looks around. She smells the coffee, turns over, buries her face in her pillow and goes back to sleep

Everyone is woken up to the sounds of screeching coming from the street.
They rush to the windows to find Jespah has challenged Lightwizard to a drag race and both the Hummer and the Wizardmobile have ended up on the front lawn. Jespah get outs, panting, "Okay, but who won?"

"I'm not sure but it was certainly fast and furious," muses Lightwizard.

jes stumbles back in and grabs a couch to sleep on.

Carry on without me; I've been up since 4 and am trying to fight off 'second wind syndrome'.

Withers darling, would you please see that the front fence is repaired right away when the vehicles in question are removed from the basement level entry?

Good morning everyone. I've finally struggled out of bed and onto my feet. But I can't speak for my appearance. This is at times a feature of the Salon.......early morning absence of make up.

Lola, with cup of coffee in hand climbs the stairs once again. Excusing herself to her fine guests and expressing admiration to LW and Jespah for their excellent command of vehicle operation, makes her way to her upstairs study. She really HAS to write those damn reports!

Withers trying to clear the front yard notices the Wizardmobile has changed into the Wizardsaucermobile and taken off for gawd know where, a trail of soapopera cripts and empty cans of Spam left behind (its primary fuels). The Hummer is trying to learn gangsta rap but hasn't figured out how to hum it. Someone get Jespah off the sofa before the police arrive!

Lola's thoughts:

I think I'll go down to the kitchen and get some coffee and see who's in the living room..............no, Lola, you know you're just making excuses, you have to work on these reports.........but I need coffee to concentrate.........call Fifi...........but Fifi is so slow and I need coffee now.........just start Lola, you know it's fun once you get started..........but it's so lonely up here and I have so much fun with my guests.........work Lola, no more talking....work...play later.................(mumbling) work, play later, work, play later..................

Withers ~~~ lifts Jes's Hummer and WLWizardMobile from the yard - as Stradee enters salon saying "Ok, everyone up ~ sleeping on such a beautiful day"?

Lola stumbles through door of the library ~ eyes half mast but pleased those
danged reports finally finished - Jes peers from the pillow covering her face
and says groggly " Badges? What speed limit".......where's my keys"?

Stradee offers Jes and Lola the key to her new Chevy SSR ~ her ya go,
brand new V8 alluminum engine ~ the drive will wake ya up ~

http://www.chevrolet.com/ssr/index.html

Stradee asks Withers for a Mocha ~ returns London's transcript ~ sits on the porch in the sunshine waiting for Jes and Lola's return..........

Hi Helen ~ Stradee waves ~ That was Helen wasn't it? Coordinates were correct - danged traffic! Calling Helen on her cell ~ she's diverted her course just a tad ~ will be arriving in December Very Happy

It's a good day for ducks and may eventually become a good day for penguins. By that I mean it's raining and snow is predicted.

Diane enters the living room and finds a seat near the fire next to Peace and Love. When the others ask Diane about her road trip with a mountie and her nine month old puppy, Sam, she sighs and, smiling, says that the mountie was memorable, but Sam was really the best company.

LightWizard is the center of attention, surrounded by Jespah, still under a blanket, Peace and Love, Stradee and the sleepy Lola. He is explaining how the wizardmobile can run on Spam and soap opera cripts. Jes asks about the cripts and LW explains that it is shorthand for scripts that have been sent to the crypt of rejected soap opera scripts. These are the scripts that are far too logical and realistic for the viewing public. Soap devotees can't identify with logical, rational characters or with the stars that can't have a baby out of wedlock while, at the same time, are having an affair with the husband of the leading lady.

These cripts, combined with Spam, have the effect of rocket fuel, giving the wizardmobile the speed and thrust of a rocket, reaching the speed of light in 60 seconds.

LW, says Diane, your recuperative powers are outstanding, but what was really impressive was the race with Jes. For the next road trip, would you mind giving me a ride in the wizardmobile? I love its fuel efficiency and speed. I'll bring the food, just name what you like best and I'll stock the galley.

Who else wants to come?

Stradee gathers skis, warm mittens, replaces removable hard-top, a thermos of hot coffee for everyone - warm winter gear packed - and invites all to Alpine Meadows for a day of snowboarding..........

(Sorry Jes ~ living in California our weather is quite mild today ~ )

Will return to thaw by Salon fireplace in a few days ~ Stradee waves...

Lola, (Jes having declined in favor of sleep) returning from her "spin" in the new Yellow Chevy SSR is excited. ImPressed with the little machine with a big engine (Lola's favorite) she sits down for a cup of tea.

"Stradee," says Lola. "How much did that car cost? Too bad I couldn't take it up to speed. I didn't have time to make it over to the West Side Hwy."

Looking around, Lola says, "Where is Blatham lately? Must be working awfully hard for a man of usual leisure. What shall we do, girls to entice him to stop by? LW, will you give us all a ride in your automobile, you sweet, crazy man?"

Not sure of the cost, Lola ~ not in production yet ~ don't tell anyone but I've got an in with one of the Chevy racing team drivers ~ the boy is coordinated ~

Roadster doesn't have the tork of a 675 V8 ~ (Wizardmobile smokes) but ya can spin at a good clip with 290 hp ~ 5.3 Aluminum V8 ~

(at the site, there's a feature that allows you to change exterior color, mag wheels, and interior colors)

Brings us right back to "the day" doesn't it?

Oh look Lola, there's PAL and Diane sitting with Jes and LW! Hi Diane!
Not to worry hon ~ there are plenty of mounties just waiting to meet you
and adorable Sam.

Where is Blatham?

"Blaaaaaaathummm" it's Stradeeeeeeeeee calling! Where arrrrrrrre
yuuuuuuu!

Here hon, sit with us by the fireplace, we'll order drinks, then enjoy a leisurely dinner.
