Is that "The House of the Rising Sun" looming large on the horizon ?
And is it not a travesty in comparison to Lola's Salon. Should the weakwilled take a detour, whilst the strong merely avert their eyes.

Steve, I'm sure what you say is true, but without the legal background and history of what transpired thus far, it's impossible to come to the defense of this person. I am usually very skeptical of one time posts which declares one thing or another whether it's on A2K or the media. c.i.

Lola looks down from her study window and wishes she could join her friends. Fifi brings news of the events in the salon, suggesting, as only Fifi, that perhaps Lola would like to take a very short break and join her friends for a glass of brandy before going to bed. Lola agrees, since she has done as much work tonight as she can do. No work gets done with a tired mind.
Let's see Jeffers, I think I'll have a spot of cognac. Hi everyone. I miss you all.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but I have been busy outside the cyberworld although I did monitor Abuzz. I have a few problems with the Superior Court on NJ on civil actions and I am acting as the pro se for myself. In two years I have learnt a great deal of the infrastructure of the court and it is amazing how may professionals do not know the rules of court. It keeps me busy. Poor old buster (the coke addict) has a heart mummer he has his own cardiologist and I have to give him a lot of pills everyday, had to develop a new technique to administer them, I use cream cheese and he cannot spit them out. I think it is time to resurrect Taffy le Blanc she is doing well and so are the other dogs I will say TTFN for now. By the way what happened to Fred or has he got a Title these days?

Diane comes in and joins the friends at the fire. Wither, some champagne please. I just made some curried coconut chips, so help yourselves, they are very good.
The company is great, the fire relaxing, but I miss having some music. P&L and oak, how about some good old rock and roll? I just don't want to listen by myself.
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'II sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music aln 't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
Don't try to take me to a disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In ten minutes I'II be late for the door
I like that old time rock'n' roll
Still like that old time rock'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll
Won't go to hear them play a tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only sure way to get me to go
Start playing old time rock 'n' roll
Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill
Today' music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
Still like that old time rock'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll

Thanks for the offer of coffee, Lola. I'm ready for a couple cups of black java, before I set off to find some more plants to bury in my yard.
Learned from a writer friend that he dug up a novel he was working on twenty years ago to finish it, but found it needed a lot of rework. Will keep you posted.

After a nice breakfast with her friends, Lola ascends the stairs to her study for one last week end of work. Actually, Lola can no longer think of it as work. The work has gotten so interesting, she's now thinking of it as fun. She'll check back in for a bit for company and food.

Ma cher Lola
Bienvenue a la cafe de (que'est que ces) je ne comprend pas aussi je ne parle pas bien la Francais. mais
en europe,
Nous avons Italian opera, French wines, German engineering, English humour, Spanish er (dont know really lets say flamenco) Irish insanity, Greece cheese, and Dansish blue.....
and frankly listening to Mahler Puccini and Mozart
(and you have Elvis and well not sure who else)
I think some Americans (not you my dear Lola) should be a little more humble.
Feeling in a decidedly superior frame of mind
With best wishes etc

Hi Steve,
I'll meet you down the street from your place and we'll have some lunch before I go back to work, and we can talk about it. London for lunch, where the residents are feeling decidedly superior sounds very nice. And after lunch, some coffee.
But I don't understand the word, "bouvez" Please clarify, before I click myself over.
Humbly, very, very humbly,
Lola the Great

"Lola the Great?" LOL That's humble "self-engrandizement" (I think I created a new word, or in the least it's misspelled) if I ever heard one. c.i.

Lola,
I may be able to help with Steve's bouvez, though not with the humble engrandizement debate as I am solidly in the camp of Uriah Heep.
Bouvez refers to a Bouvier family secret word for Jackie Bouvier's ability to drink like a frenchwoman, being derived from buvez-the plural form of the french word for you drink-hence bouvez.
So what happened to Balderdash ?
Can we resurrect it ?
Your humble servant mam

Hiama, there's a Balderdash thread. It's in the Trivia & Word Games forum.
